Marco Silva sends a transfer message to Everton, urges them to 'attack the market'

Everton manager Marco Silva has revealed that the Toffees need to get the summer window right in order to challenge for the top four.
Speaking to Liverpool Echo, the Everton boss revealed that the summer window could be key to Everton’s progress and he wants the club to take it seriously.
Silva revealed that he wants to hold on to the likes of Zouma and Gomes on permanent deals and then add to his squad in the other positions.
He said: “We have to make the right steps to achieve being a top four team. Of course, we need a strong market. It will be tough for us. We want to keep two key players who are on loan, we want to attack the market well. It is part of the job, part of the steps. When you finish the season strong, you just have one way to go for next season, to improve. It is what I want, to improve what we did this season and it must be our target. The next market will be key for us and to keep our level.”
Everton have finished the season strongly and it will be interesting to see if Silva is backed in the market this summer.
The Toffees need to improve their midfield and attack in order to challenge for the European places next season.
Silva received considerable backing last summer and there have been some encouraging signs of progress during the course of the 2018/19 season.
If Everton can sign a goalscoring winger and a quality central midfielder along with Gomes, they can really push the top six next year.

'Joke', 'No please' – Some Tottenham fans aren't too keen on reported 25-yr-old target

'Joke', 'No please' – Some Tottenham fans aren't too keen on reported 25-yr-old target – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham are apparently keen on the West Ham left-back Arthur Masuaku this summer.
According to Sun, the Londoners could lose Danny Rose this summer and Masuaku’s performances have caught the eye of Mauricio Pochettino. Apparently, Dortmund are tracking the player as well.
The 25-year-old West Ham defender has one year left on his current deal but the Hammers have the option to trigger a one-year extension.
Masuaku has done well for West Ham this season but Tottenham could be too much of a step up for him. He is not ready to play for a side that wishes to win the title and the Champions League.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs submit an offer for the player soon.
West Ham and Tottenham are bitter rivals and therefore a transfer might be complicated. Spurs might have to come up with a significant offer to convince Pellegrini’s side.
Tottenham have been intelligent in the market over the years and they should look to bring in someone better. Even if Masuaku costs less, they should try and sign someone like Sessegnon with more upside.
Here is how some of the Tottenham fans have reacted to the report earlier.

Levy time. I see his mindset hasn’t changed at all. Joke

Fake news – he can’t even get a game for West Ham and has been appalling most games he’s played
— Barry Findleton (@HawkwellGreenU7) May 14, 2019

No please no no
— Teddan (@TedTorndal) May 13, 2019

I’m surprised at a lot of the responses, I personally think Masuaku would be a brilliant signing. I’d rather have Rose stay though.

Wow…. Masuaku is terrible.

Gerrard plotting summer move for 21-yr-old, could be another bargain for Rangers

Gerrard plotting summer move for 21-yr-old, could be another bargain for Rangers – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Rangers are keen on signing the Oldham defender George Edmundson this summer.
According to Daily Mail, the likes of Stoke City and Hull City are interested in the player as well.
The young defender has done very well for Oldham and he is valued at around £450,000. The report adds that the player is keen on making a step up.
Despite his tender age, he has plenty of experience under his belt. The 21-year-old has already made 79 appearances for the League Two club.
Rangers would be a great move for him. The Scottish giants could help fulfil his potential. If he manages to develop properly at Ibrox, the transfer could look like a massive bargain in the years to come.
Steven Gerrard picked up an excellent bargain in Kamara during the 2018/19 season and he will be looking to do so again ahead of next season.
Edmundson clearly has the talent to play at a higher level and it will be interesting to see if Rangers are willing to give him the chance now. The Scottish club certainly have the resources to make the move happen.
Rangers need strength in depth to push Celtic for the title next season and Edmundson would be a handy signing.

'Absolutely gutted' – Some Leeds fans react to 26-year-old's social media update

'Absolutely gutted' – Some Leeds fans react to 26-year-old's social media update – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United forward Kemar Roofe has confirmed on his social media account that he will miss the game against Derby tomorrow with an injury.
He scored the winner in the first leg of the playoff semifinal and he revealed that he is gutted to miss out on the return leg.

Extremely gutted to be missing the 2nd leg with another set back! But these set backs only make me stronger for when I return⚽️🖤 @ Pride Park Stadium https://t.co/xl9KEuezZb
— Kemar Roofe (@roofe) May 13, 2019

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have a 1-0 lead and they will just have to get the job done without Roofe.
The 26-year-old striker will be hoping to return for the final at Wembley.
Leeds have had an impressive season and they will be desperate for promotion. Another year in the Championship could seriously damage their morale.
The Whites should have secured automatic promotion this year. They were in a good position to win the Championship but a late collapse allowed the likes of Norwich and Sheffield United to overtake them.
It will be interesting to see how Leeds perform against Derby tomorrow. Frank Lampard will demand a big performance from his players after the first leg.
The two managers don’t exactly share a great relationship since the Spygate and Lampard will be determined to get past Bielsa’s side here.
Here is how the Leeds fans reacted to Roofe’s social media post.

Not as gutted as us Kemar, awesome Saturday, brilliant goal, get well soon, hopefully see you at Wembley 🙏❤⚽ #MOT xx
— SUSAN SMITH 1 (@SmithLeedsUtd) May 13, 2019

Absolutely gutted you are out again. We are a far better team with you up front!
— Rob (@mightywhitesfc) May 13, 2019

😪😪 wish you a speedy recovery and your team the best bro 👍🏾
— Dunks (@Chey_Dks) May 13, 2019

The luck you’ve had this season has been rotten; and the team in general. Really can’t remember so many first team players being sidelined for weeks on end. Hope to see you bagging the winner at Wembley!
— Ted Atkinson 💙💛 (@tedatkinson) May 13, 2019

Just make sure you’re fit for the final I want to see the scenes at villa Park again at Wembley!
— Mark Schofield (@Scoffer8) May 13, 2019

Damn, I had hoped Marcelo was pulling a sneaky move on team info. Speedy recovery, Kemar.

Tottenham close in on £25m signing, some fans react: 'Absolute steal', 'Get it done'

Tottenham close in on £25m signing, some fans react: 'Absolute steal', 'Get it done' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham are close to signing the Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon this summer.
According to Sun, the Londoners are closing in on a £25 million move.
Sessegnon has had a poor season in the Premier League along with his teammates and Fulham are now back in the Championship.
The youngster will be determined to prove himself in the Premier League and Spurs are keen on giving him that opportunity.
The Fulham ace can play as a winger as well as a left back. His versatility could be really useful for Pochettino next season.
Tottenham do not have a left sided winger and Sessegnon could play that role. Also, he could be a back up to Rose/Davies when needed.
The Londoners have not signed a player for a while and the fans might be delighted to see a talented player like Sessegnon come in.
Before this season, the player was very highly rated because of his exploits in the Championship. This seems like a good time to sign the player as his stock is low and the asking price will be quite reasonable.
Tottenham fans have already taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the potential signing and here are some of the reactions from earlier.

Daniel Levy ultimate businessman, waited for Fulham to get relegated to knock 75mil off the price from last summer looooool
— Mate Parlov (@BenAlderweireld) May 14, 2019

If we sign him for that price it would be great
— Jack.A (@thfcjack_) May 14, 2019

Would definitely take him for that
— Marcus 🇰🇷 (@DeIecopter) May 14, 2019

Absolute steal, can play anywhere down the left. Poch will have him in senior England squad within 12 months….
— Dan (@ElCapitain82) May 14, 2019

If that’s the price it’s an absolute bargain !!
— Michael Richardson (@1983Richardson) May 14, 2019

Get it done. Now. Get Bale in as his mentor. Now. Then cement long term deals and pay rises for those we want to keep. Now. Let’s not drag it out Levy. #COYS #THFC @SpursOfficial
— @1gangan (@djstopofthetree) May 14, 2019

Get this one done nice and early, quality addition to the squad 👍

Report: Lennon could hand promising Celtic teenager debut against Hearts

Report: Lennon could hand promising Celtic teenager debut against Hearts – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to the Scottish Sun, Celtic interim manager Neil Lennon could hand Karomoko Dembele his first-team debut against Hearts on Sunday.
The 16-year-old was initially set to link up with the England under-17 team for the European Championships in Ireland, but has since been pulled out in order to prepare for the final Scottish Premiership game of the campaign this weekend.
The sensational Dembele is widely regarded as the Hoops’ brightest prospect having played for the under-20s as a 13-year-old, and he is set to be named on the bench for the Hearts clash.
England are already out of the Euros under-17 following a draw against France and defeat to the Netherlands, and Dembele will be looking to put the disappointment of missing out on the tournament behind him by putting in a great performance against Hearts on Sunday.

"The fans have given them time" – Herrera wants United faithful to emulate rivals' fans

"The fans have given them time" – Herrera wants United faithful to emulate rivals' fans – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Manchester United ended the 2018-19 campaign on the most disappointing of notes, finishing the season without a silverware and outside the English Premier League top-four places.
The Red Devils will be playing in the Europa League next season after ending up in sixth place in the league table, and their dismal campaign was summed up by the 2-0 loss to relegated Cardiff City at Old Trafford on the last day of the season.
As a result, some of the United faithful had a go at French midfielder Paul Pogba after the match, but departing Spaniard Ander Herrera wants the fans to emulate their Liverpool counterparts and be patient instead.
“The club will need time, confidence and support,” Herrera said, as reported by Evening Standard.
“I am sure they will give it but the only thing I ask for them is time because this is not easy. There are examples. Liverpool are probably going to win the Champions League but I am leaving this club and they haven’t won one title in five years I have been here.
“They have done incredible work but the fans have given them time. That’s what this club needs at the moment.”
United are yet to win the title since 2013 and have continued to struggle for domestic and continental relevance since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson.
They have only won the F.A Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League despite employing the services of four managers after the Scot, and fans are beginning to grow impatient watching rivals Manchester City and Liverpool overtake them.
As Herrera has rightly pointed out, though, it will take time for United to get things right in order to start challenging for the top prizes again, and the fans have to emulate the Reds’ faithful who keep supporting their side through thick and thin.
