Club chief executive says Celtic and Rangers 'must be looking' at 28-year-old player

Glasgow Rangers could be looking to bring a new goalkeeper to Ibrox this summer. Likewise, Scottish Premiership champions Celtic could be in the hunt for a new shot-stopper.
St Mirren chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick has told the Daily Record that both Celtic and Rangers could be interested in signing Vaclav Hladky this summer.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper saved three spot kicks in the shootout in an absolute nail-biter to hand St Mirren the victory over Dundee United in their play-off decider. As a result, St Mirren will be staying in the Scottish Premiership for another season.
The goalkeeper joined the club in January after struggling to make an impact at Slovan Liberec. However, according to the club chief executive, the Czech Republic goalkeeper could be targeted by a host of clubs in the summer, including the likes of Celtic and Rangers.
Both the Glasgow clubs will be looking to sign a goalkeeper this summer, and Fitzpatrick believes that Hladky has the ability to play at the highest level.
“There are teams from Russia and other countries already interested in signing Vaclav and I’m not surprised as he is top quality,” said Fitzpatrick.
“He’s capable of playing a level much higher than the Premiership. I would think Celtic and Rangers must be looking at him too and thinking he could do a job for them. He’s a big-game player and such a find for us. We want to keep him. The boy loves it here. He’s got a year on his contract so we want to keep him and even extend his deal.”

West Ham submit offer for 25-yr-old, some fans react: 'Sign him now', 'He is very very good'

West Ham submit offer for 25-yr-old, some fans react: 'Sign him now', 'He is very very good' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

West Ham have reportedly submitted a bid for the Alaves defender Guillermo Maripan.
According to Mundo Deportivo (report translated by SportWitness), the Hammers may have submitted an €11.5m bid.
Maripan has done well for Alaves in La Liga this past season and he could prove to be a useful signing for the Premier League side.
The impressive central defender can chip in with goals and assists as well. He contributed to 4 goals in La Liga this past season.
Manuel Pellegrini needs to add depth to his defensive unit and Maripan would be ideal.
Currently, the Chilean has Diop, Balbuena and Ogbonna as his reliable centre back options.
If Maripan settles in well, he could partner Diop at the heart of West Ham’s defence next season.
It will be interesting to see if the Hammers can get the deal over the line now.
Alaves will not want to lose a key player this summer and West Ham might have to come up with a better offer if they truly want to sign the 25-year-old.
The Hammers need to improve their squad in order to challenge for the Europa League positions next season and signing a player like Maripan would be a step in the right direction.

Sign him now please

No surprise with Sullivan sending out lowball offers for players.
— R. Jones ☆ (@RockyWhu) May 30, 2019

We need quality not quantity this window – would rather get Maripan, Gomes (or a player of similar quality) and a top quality striker than spread the money across 5-6 positions. The season after this one, buy a quality LB and RB and then the team’s pretty much sorted

Everton set to sign defensive midfielder next week, agent on his way to England

Everton set to sign defensive midfielder next week, agent on his way to England – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton are expected to complete the signing of Santiago Sosa soon.
According to a report from TYC Sports (translated by SportWitness), the midfielder’s agent is arriving in England next week to finalise the transfer.
The player was linked with a move to Everton earlier this summer as well and it seems that the Toffees have made significant progress as far as the transfer is concerned.
Apparently, the Toffees are paying around £12m for the River Plate midfielder. The Argentine outfit are in need of money and they are willing to cash in on Sosa now.
The 20-year-old midfielder is very highly rated in Argentine and it seems that Everton are bringing him in as one for the future.
The highly rated defensive midfielder could be the long term successor for Gueye. In the short term, he could be the ideal cover in the cup games.
It will be interesting to see if Sosa joins up with the youth team once the move is finalised.
He will need time to adapt to a new country and English football. It is unlikely that he will make an impact next season.
However, there is no doubt that he has the talent to break into Silva’s plans soon.

14 goals last season: West Ham submit offer for highly rated Arsenal target

14 goals last season: West Ham submit offer for highly rated Arsenal target – originally posted on Sportslens.com

West Ham are looking to sign the highly rated Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice.
According to Soccerlink, Arsenal are keen on the player as well and both London clubs have submitted an offer for the player now.
However, Arsenal’s offer has been turned down and the Gunners are looking to return with a better offer.
Claude-Maurice has scored 14 goals this past season with Lorient and he is regarded as a top quality talent in France.
It will be interesting to see if West Ham can agree on a deal with Lorient for the player now.
They certainly have the resources to convince the French outfit.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are in desperate need of reinforcements in attack and the youngster could prove to be very useful.
Andy Carroll has left the club and the likes of Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez could be on their way out as well.
West Ham must sign a quality attacker and the Lorient ace would be ideal.
The 20-year-old is a target for French clubs Lyon, Lille and PSG as well and therefore the Hammers will have to secure his services soon.

Report: Leeds in the hunt to sign 22-year-old defender, club could listen to offers

Report: Leeds in the hunt to sign 22-year-old defender, club could listen to offers – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from Portsmouth News, Leeds United are one of the many clubs that are showing interest in signing Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke in the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Leeds could face competition from the likes of Brighton, Stoke City, Bristol City, Hull City and Reading. As a result, Portsmouth are looking at a bidding war for the defender who scored four goals in 60 appearances last season.
Pompey missed out on promotion to the Championship after losing to Sunderland in the League One play-offs. While Kenny Jackett will be aiming for another promotion push next season, and thereby try to keep hold of his star players, it seems Clarke could move on.
His contract is set to expire at the end of next season, and Pompey could be willing to cash in now.
Leeds United, who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League, need to bolster their defence this summer. Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson remain the two recognised centre-backs, and several other players including Kalvin Phillips have been used in a makeshift role whenever there has been an injury crisis.
Therefore, a solid centre-back is required, and Clarke has all the quality and potential to fill that role. But first, Leeds must ensure they win the bidding war!

Tottenham confident of signing highly rated winger, some fans react: 'Get it done'

Tottenham confident of signing highly rated winger, some fans react: 'Get it done' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham are confident of completing a deal for Ryan Sessegnon this summer.
The Fulham ace is expected to leave this summer after relegation and The Times believe that he could be heading to Spurs.
The 19-year-old had a poor debut season in the Premier League and he will be determined to prove himself at this level in future.
Spurs would be the ideal move for him at this stage of his career. Mauricio Pochettino could be the man to unlock his tremendous potential.
The young winger can play as a left back as well and he will provide depth to the Tottenham side next season.
Sessegnon has the talent to develop into a leading star with time and his transfer should prove to be a solid long term investment for the Londoners.
The Premier League side are looking at the likes of Giovani Lo Celso as well.
It seems that Pochettino is determined to add to his squad this summer. The Londoners failed to sign a single player this season.
If they are to challenge the likes of Manchester City, they will need more quality and depth.
Some of the Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on Sessegnon’s potential arrival. Here are some of the reactions.

Everton favourites to land 25-yr-old target, club waiting for an official offer

Everton favourites to land 25-yr-old target, club waiting for an official offer – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton are apparently the favourites to sign Diego Llorente this summer.
According to a report from Noticias de Gipuzkoa (translated by SportWitness), the Toffees have been in contact with the La Liga outfit and Real Sociedad are now waiting for an official offer.
Apparently, the player is valued at around €30m and therefore Everton should be able to afford him.
Llorente is an impressive defender who can play as a defensive midfielder as well.
Marco Silva could use more depth in defence and the La Liga player could be a useful addition.
Llorente has been linked with a move to Liverpool as well but it seems that Everton are the ones that are more interested and they are leading the chase.
It will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal in the coming weeks.
Everton certainly have the financial resources to pay €30m for the player.
If they can agree on a deal with the club, convincing the player shouldn’t be too hard. Llorente might be keen to make the step up and the lure of the Premier League can be hard to turn down.
It will be interesting to see where the 25-year-old ends up eventually.

'Would be a beast signing' – Some Aston Villa fans react to links with 21-goal forward

'Would be a beast signing' – Some Aston Villa fans react to links with 21-goal forward – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Aston Villa are thought to be interested in signing the Porto striker Moussa Marega.
The 28-year-old is up for grabs this summer and O Jogo are reporting (translated by SportWitness) that Aston Villa could land the striker this summer.
Marega has been linked with the likes of West Ham, Everton and Swansea as well.
Aston Villa need to improve their attacking options this summer and Marega could prove to be a superb signing for them.
Dean Smith’s men are now in the Premier League and therefore they should be able to afford a marquee signing like Moussa Marega.
The striker is apparently valued at around €30m. He scored 21 goals and picked up 11 assists this past season.
Tammy Abraham was the main goalscorer at Aston Villa but his loan spell is over and the player is expected to stay at Chelsea next season.
Marega would be the ideal alternative. The Porto ace is a proven goalscorer and he has shown his quality in the Champions League as well.
He has the physical abilities to cope with English football.
It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa make a move for the player in the coming weeks.

21 Goals and 11 assists can play as a striker or a RW, 28 years old but would be a beast signing if we get himhttps://t.co/bjBo4JY4qP pic.twitter.com/DreGGUXtUB

Don’t know much about him but 28 is not old these days.
Players take much better care of themselves than before, even more so players from abroad. Most players are playing on towards mid 30’s still at the top level.
— Gary Glasgow (@GPDecorating) May 29, 2019

They looked at him and a few others earlier this year! Doubt we will be paying that figure for any player need a good few replacements so can see spending be more practical and not paying over the odds for players.

Tottenham are keen on signing the Roma winger Cengiz Under this summer.
According to report from Gazzetta dello Sport (translated by SportWitness), the Londoners have come forward to hold talks with the player’s entourage in the recent weeks.
It will be interesting to see if they make a move for the young winger now.
Apparently, Under’s valuation has dropped from €50m to €40m.
The Turkish winger is a prodigious talent and he could prove to be a very good signing for Spurs next season.
Pochettino needs to add more pace, flair and goals to his attack and Under would be ideal on the right side of his attack.
The 21-year-old has 6 goals and 8 assists in 22 starts (Serie A and the Champions League) for Roma this season.
The Londoners need attacking depth to match up to the likes of Manchester City next season.
Apparently, Arsenal are keen on the player as well. It will be interesting to see who makes the first move for the player.
Tottenham can offer him Champions League football next season and that could give them an edge over their London rivals.
It will be interesting to see where Under ends up eventually.

7 goals and 14 assists: Everton eyeing 25-yr-old ace, he has admirers at Goodison Park

7 goals and 14 assists: Everton eyeing 25-yr-old ace, he has admirers at Goodison Park – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton are looking to improve their attacking options this summer and Liverpool Echo believe that Ryan Fraser has admirers at Goodison Park.
The Bournemouth ace has had a very good season and the interest in him is hardly surprising.
The 25-year-old picked up 7 goals and 14 assists in the Premier League this past season and he is someone who could improve Everton a lot.
The Toffees are in desperate need of a wide player who can create as well as score goals. The likes of Walcott have disappointed and Silva needs to bring in an upgrade.
Fraser has shown that he is ready to play for a better club and Everton should look to splash out on him.
The Toffees will want to challenge for the Europa League places next season and they need to improve their attack in order to do so.
It will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal with Bournemouth this summer. The Cherries might not want to sell a key player.
Also, they are under no pressure to sell Fraser this summer. And if it comes to that, Eddie Howe will demand a premium for his key asset.
