18 goals this past season: Newcastle looking to sign in-demand 22-yr-old attacker

Newcastle are keen on the Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.
The young Welshman was on loan at Derby County this past season and he managed to impress in the Championship.
Wilson is unlikely to get first-team chances at Anfield next season and therefore a permanent move might be on the cards this summer.
According to Daily Mirror, Crystal Palace and Southampton are interested in the player as well.
It will be interesting to see if Newcastle come up with an offer soon.
Liverpool might be willing to sell the player for the right price as he is not a part of Klopp’s first team plans.
Furthermore, Wilson will fancy playing in the Premier League as well. If Newcastle come in for him, he is unlikely to turn them down.
Rafa Benitez could use a goalscoring winger like Harry Wilson. The Liverpool youngster will add pace, creativity and goals to his side.
The 22-year-old has 18 goals and 4 assists for Derby this past season and he would be an upgrade on the likes of Atsu.
Benitez is a top quality coach and he will help the youngster develop further.
If the Magpies can agree on a reasonable fee now, the transfer should be a no brainer for them.

Spurs made £31m bid for summer target, some fans react – 'Let's get it done'

Spurs made £31m bid for summer target, some fans react – 'Let's get it done' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from L’Equipe (h/t The Metro), Tottenham Hotspur have made an opening offer for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
Spurs have reportedly made a bid just under £31m for the highly-rated midfielder, but it was quickly rejected.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the best young talents in world football, and he is coveted by a host of top European clubs, including Juventus and Manchester United.
The French publication claims it is Spurs who have made an official move for the midfielder, with the Champions League finalists having offered an opening bid of €35m (£30.89m).
However, the figure is some way off Lyon’s valuation of the midfielder. The French club value the youngster at £88million, and it remains to be seen whether any potential suitor comes close to meeting that amount.
Lyon are prepared to cash in on Ndombele, but Spurs need to come close to their valuation to have any chance of signing him.
Some Tottenham fans took to social networking site Twitter to express their reaction on the report. Here are some of the best tweets:

60-70m is reasonable, 88m is pushing it

Offer 60 + Wanyama

This guy looks great, and would love to have him but 88million is a lot and I look back at when Chelsea bought bakayako who was running the Monaco midfield at that time..big risk but hopefully pays off

Might aswell give them free medical supplies too in that case 😂

They asked for 88m … Levy will take that as 8.8m ….
Lets get it done #COYS

Sign Rabiot on a free and 88mil for a combined Rabiot and Ndombele would prove great business.

Report: Newcastle eye move for £15m int'l, could face competition from West Ham

Report: Newcastle eye move for £15m int'l, could face competition from West Ham – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Aaron Mooy may leave Huddersfield Town this summer with a host of Premier League clubs vying for his signature.
According to the World Game, at least six clubs are interested in signing the Australia international who could leave the club following Huddersfield’s relegation to the Championship.
Mooy impressed last season and several clubs are keen to take a gamble on him.
The 28-year-old is certain to leave John Smith’s Stadium this summer, and Newcastle United are one of the six top-flight teams who are ready to offer him a fresh start.
The report claims that West Ham, Watford, Southampton, Wolves, and Leicester City are also keen on signing the former Bolton Wanderers midfielder.
Huddersfield will be powerless to prevent him from leaving the club if Premier League clubs make an offer, but they would demand at least £15m for him.
Newcastle United are looking to bolster their midfield this summer, and Mooy would be a decent addition to the squad. It remains to be seen whether the Magpies or the Hammers make any formal move for him during the summer.

Report: Celtic eye move for 48-cap int'l, player likely to leave the club

Report: Celtic eye move for 48-cap int'l, player likely to leave the club – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to the Mexican website Radio Formula, Scottish champions Celtic are exploring the possibility of signing Cristhian Stuani in the summer transfer window.
The 48-cap Uruguay international scored 19 goals in La Liga last season. However, he is almost certain to leave the club following Girona’s relegation from La Liga.
The report claims that the Bhoys are interested in signing the 32-year-old striker. However, they could face competition from Nottingham Forest and Barcelona.
Stuani would be a fantastic signing for Celtic this summer. He would cost in the region of £6-£7m, and Celtic should not hesitate to sign him.
While Stuani could be tempted to join the Catalan giants if Barcelona come calling, Celtic can at least offer him regular football.
Neil Lennon should be looking to bolster his strike department in the summer, and Stuani will provide depth and quality to the squad.
He has previous experience of playing in England, having spent two seasons at Middlesbrough. Stuani has a lot of football left in him, and Celtic must move quickly to secure his signature.

Opinion: Dean Smith has two big problems with out-of-favour Aston Villa man

Opinion: Dean Smith has two big problems with out-of-favour Aston Villa man – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Ross McCormack could be on his way out of Aston Villa after struggling for form and playing time, but his new wage-rise and ankle injury may stop Dean Smith getting the ball rolling. Since joining Villa from Fulham in 2016, the 32-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
McCormack’s last outing in a Villa shirt came against Middlesbrough on September 19, 2017 and his last goal was back in December 2016. He had a high-profile fallout with former manager Steve Bruce and was criticised for being divisive in the dressing room.
The Scotland international cost £12m and has spent more time out on loan than he has at Villa Park – Nottingham Forest (January 31, 2017 – May 31, 2017), Melbourne City (September 29, 2017), Central Coast September 20, 2018 – January 5, 2019 and Motherwell (January 5, 2019 – May 20, 2019).
Dean Smith will no doubt want to offload the striker and reinvest the money into new signings this summer, but he’s been met with two large obstacles. Villa’s promotion to the Premier League has led to Ross McCormack receiving a substantial payrise to £70k-per-week which is likely to put off suitors making an approach.
McCormack’s current condition won’t help matters either as the centre-forward has been out of action since February with an ankle injury. The 32-year-old has one more year on his deal at Villa Park and could well stay for the entirety if Smith fails to sell him this summer.

Report: 96-cap int'l rejects Celtic contract, set to leave the club

Report: 96-cap int'l rejects Celtic contract, set to leave the club – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from Herald Scotland, Emilio Izaguirre has rejected a contract extension offer from Celtic, and he is now set to leave the Scottish Premiership champions this summer.
The 96-cap Honduras international made 19 appearances in all competitions for Celtic in 2018-19 as the Bhoys won the domestic treble for the third time in a row.
The 33-year-old has been offered a new contract, but he has decided that his future will lie away from Parkhead.
The report claims that the left-back has told his agent to find him another club, either in the MLS or elsewhere in Europe.
Izaguirre has been a terrific servant for the club, but he was decent at best whenever he got opportunities in the absence of Kieran Tierney.
Celtic do have Calvin Miller in their ranks, but he is a long way off Tierney’s standard. Therefore, Celtic will be looking to sign a solid left-back in the summer.
Izaguirre won seven league titles with the Bhoys during his time at the club.

Report: Three times Rangers title winner could leave Ibrox this summer

Report: Three times Rangers title winner could leave Ibrox this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Glasgow Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty has failed to live up to expectations during his second spell at Glasgow, and he could leave the Ibrox club this summer.
According to reports from The Scotsman, Lafferty could be heading towards the Ibrox exit door, with Apollon Limassol expressing an interest in the Northern Ireland international.
Lafferty, who has won three Scottish Premiership titles with the Gers, rejoined the club for a second spell last summer from Hearts for a fee of £500,000. He has managed only seven goals in all competitions and failed to start in a single Scottish Premiership game since the arrival of Jermain Defoe in January.
Lafferty appears to be on borrowed time at the club, and the 31-year-old could be on his way to Cyprus this summer. Rangers are already active in the summer transfer window and are expected to sign Greg Stewart after he was released from Birmingham City.
Although Rangers will be needing depth in the squad to compete in all competitions, Lafferty doesn’t seem to be in Steven Gerrard’s long term plans. Therefore, a move away from Ibrox will be beneficial for all parties involved.

Everton transfer round-up: 24-year-old ace set for exit, club have scouted exciting right-back

Everton transfer round-up: 24-year-old ace set for exit, club have scouted exciting right-back – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton defender Matthew Pennington has been loaned out by the Merseyside club over the past two seasons, and he could be heading out of Goodison Park permanently this summer.
The 24-year-old has done well in the Championships, and according to the Liverpool Echo, Derby County and Wigan Athletic are vying for his signature.
The centre-back is not in the first team plans of Everton manager Marco Silva, and the Toffees are keen to offload him in the summer.
Last season, he was out on loan at Ipswich Town, and he does not seem to have done well enough to convince Silva to give him a proper chance at Goodison Park.
Latest on Reece James
According to reports from the Liverpool Echo, Everton are in the market to sign a right-back, and Chelsea’s Reece James has been scouted on a number of occasions in recent months.
James enjoyed a brilliant individual campaign with Wigan Athletic in the Championship and played a huge part in keeping Paul Cook’s side up.
However, the Toffees have remained tight-lipped over the extent of their interest.

Report: Aston Villa enter bidding process to sign £9m midfielder – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Aston Villa are expected to remain busy in the summer transfer window following their promotion to the Premier League.
According to reports from Spanish newspaper Marca, Villa have joined the race to sign £9million rated Real Valladolid midfielder Alcaraz.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a decent 2018-19 campaign, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 34 matches in La Liga last season.
His impressive form hasn’t gone unnoticed and has caught the attention of Aston Villa who will play in the Premier League next season after beating Derby County 2-1 in the Championship final at Wembley on Monday.
As a result, Dean Smith’s side will be boosted financially, and they will have the funds to bring in top quality players to the side.
The report claims that Villa have entered the bidding process for the Spaniard’s services, while La Liga outfit Getafe are also interested.
Alcaraz is a good tackler and a fine passer of the ball, and the defensive midfielder would be a decent signing for the Villans.

Report: Arsenal to rival EPL trio for signature of Barcelona midfielder & perfect Ramsey replacement

Report: Arsenal to rival EPL trio for signature of Barcelona midfielder & perfect Ramsey replacement – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to Catalan radio station RAC1, Arsenal are stepping up their interest in Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, and are ready to meet the club’s £26 million asking price.
Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Everton – where he had a successful loan this season – are all interested in securing the services of the Portugal international for next season.
The Gunners have lost Aaron Ramsey to Juventus, and manager Unai Emery reckons Gomes is the perfect replacement having been impressed with his top-flight performances.
The 25-year-old will certainly leave Camp Nou permanently this summer, and more suitors could emerge given his relatively cheap price.
Barcelona beat Manchester United and Chelsea to the Portuguese’s signature in 2016, and while he failed to replicate his Valencia form at the club, he was crucial to the Toffees’ campaign during the season.
He could fancy the chance to move to Arsenal, especially if they secure Champions League football for next season with victory in tonight’s Europa League final at Chelsea’s expense.
Emery wants to strengthen his squad in order to challenge for silverware and a top-four finish next term, and snapping up Gomes will be a huge boost.
