Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the Portuguese forward Rafael Leao.
According to a report from L’Equipe (translated by GFFN), the newly-promoted side have ‘potentially’ submitted an offer for the player.
The report adds that Everton have sent out a concrete €37.5m bid for the attacker but Aston Villa’s offer is currently unclear.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days.
Leao is clearly a man in demand and he is expected to leave the French club this summer.
Lille have tried to convince the player to stay but a move could triple his wages.
Aston Villa could certainly use another quality striker and Leao would be a superb addition.
He is a top-class talent with a lot of potential. Smith could coach him into a star for Aston Villa with time.
The 20-year-old bagged 8 goals in Ligue 1 last term despite not being a regular starter. He would be the ideal partner/backup for Wesley Moraes.
Here is how some of the Aston Villa fans have reacted to the news.

Would love it, but we all know we won’t be getting him.

Everton are interested in signing Rafael Leao from Lille.
According to a report from L’Equipe (translated by GFFN), the Toffees have submitted a €37.5m (£33.6m) offer for the forward.
It will be interesting to see if the French outfit are willing to accept it.
They have offers from Valencia, Napoli and Aston Villa as well. However, Everton’s offer is the highest so far. Although, Valencia’s offer stands at €40m with add ons.
The report claims that Leao will leave Lille this summer. Perhaps, the French outfit are waiting for the right offer.
Everton could certainly use a player like him and the towering Portuguese forward would be a solid long term investment.
He could partner Richarlison in attack next season or lead the line himself. The Brazilian could play off Leao in a free role.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
Everton have been linked with Juventus’ Moise Kean and Mario Mandzukic as well.
It seems that Silva is keen on signing a striker this summer.
In truth, a top-class attacker could help Everton take the next step. They have a good defence and midfield in place already.
Leao is a world-class talent and he has the potential to be a star in future. He managed to score 8 goals in Ligue 1 last season.

Wolves are interested in signing the Senegal international Pape Abou Cisse this summer.
According to the Greek outlet SDNA, the Premier League side want to bring in the towering centre back as a partner for Boly and Coady.
Nuno wants to play in a 3-5-2 next season and he has identified Cisse as his third centre back.
It will be interesting to see if Wolves submit an offer for the player in the coming weeks.
There is no doubt that they could do with another centre back and Cisse could prove to be a good addition.
Wolves have been linked with the Lazio defender Wallace as well.
It is evident that Nuno is looking at centre backs and it remains to be seen who comes in through the door at Wolves.
The Premier League side have the finances to pull off these transfers. They are yet to sign a single player this summer apart from the permanent deals for Jimenez and Dendoncker.
Cisse has the physical attributes to thrive in the Premier League and he has shown his quality with the national team as well.
The 6ft 5ins colossus will add a new dimension to Wolves’ defence next season.

Report: Tottenham set to submit offer for 25-goal target in the coming hours

Report: Tottenham set to submit offer for 25-goal target in the coming hours – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham are interested in signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting this summer.
According to a report from Correio da Manhã (translated by Sportwitness), the Londoners are all set to submit a bid for the Portuguese international in the coming hours.
The playmaker is valued at €70m and it will be interesting to see how much Spurs are willing to offer for him.
Pochettino needs to improve his midfield and Lo Celso was linked with a move to Spurs. However, Betis’ demands are proving to be difficult.
Fernandes seems like an alternative to the La Liga midfielder.
The 24-year-old managed to score 25 goals last season and he would be a very good signing for the Londoners. Fernandes bagged 13 assists as well.
Spurs do not have a goalscoring midfielder like Fernandes. The likes of Eriksen are creative but they are lacking in goals.
Dele Alli had an inconsistent season last term and it is clear that Spurs will have to improve that department if they want to challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
It will be interesting to see if they can get the Fernandes deal over the line now.
The report claims that the player’s agent is in England right now and he is set to receive an offer from Manchester United as well.

Report: Wolves can sign in-demand 14-goal target for just £9m this summer

Report: Wolves can sign in-demand 14-goal target for just £9m this summer – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Wolves will have to battle it out with the likes of Porto and Flamengo if they want to sign Carlos Vinicius this summer.
According to the Brazilian outlet Boainformacao, all three clubs want to sign the Napoli striker.
The player is thought to be valued at €10m (£9m) and Wolves should be able to afford that.
Nuno needs to add more depth to his striking department and Vinicius could be the ideal back up for Jimenez next season.
The Napoli striker was on loan at Rio Ave and Monaco last season and he managed to score a combined total of 14 goals.
Wolves could certainly use someone like him in their side. With the Europa League to deal with, Wolves will have more games and they will need a bigger squad.
Jimenez might not be fresh for every game and Nuno will have to bring in another goalscorer. The likes of Jota are not capable of leading the line and Vinicius could solve that problem.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
There is no doubt that Wolves can outmuscle Porto and Flamengo financially. They can also offer the player European football and a competitive league.

Everton have approached 22-yr-old's entourage, want him to replace key star

Everton have approached 22-yr-old's entourage, want him to replace key star – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton are interested in signing Lucas Tousart this summer.
According to Le quotidian du foot, the Toffees have already approached the player’s entourage to find out about his situation.
Apparently, the player could leave the club in order to play regularly.
With the arrivals of Jean Lucas and Thiago Mendes, Tousart has fallen down the pecking order at Lyon.
The report adds that he could replace Idrissa Gueye at Everton. The midfielder is a target for PSG.
It will be interesting to see if Everton submit an offer for Tousart in the coming days. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder could be a solid addition to Silva’s squad.
He is far from his peak and he will only get better with experience and coaching. Also, he would be the ideal man to replace Gueye because of his age.
The 22-year-old made 20 starts in Ligue 1 last term and if Silva can provide assurances of regular football, convincing him shouldn’t be difficult.
The Premier League is often an attractive proposition for players.
Tousart is a very good tackler and reading of the game is quite impressive as well. He has the tools to adapt to English football and Everton should look to snap him up if Gueye is on his way out.

Neil Lennon confirms Celtic could complete signing 'in the next few days'

Neil Lennon confirms Celtic could complete signing 'in the next few days' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club could complete a signing in the next few days.
He refused to reveal the name or the position of the player but his comments will certainly excite the fans.
He said to Daily Record: “I think we’ll have something in the next few days hopefully. It might be a right-back, it might be a left-winger, it might be a centre-forward. Right-back is a priority, but we have a number of positions I’d like to strengthen like midfield and one or two attacking areas.”
Celtic have been linked with a host of new players and it will be interesting to see who comes in through the door next.
They are thought to be keen on a midfielder after the failure to sign Turnbull. A right-back is also thought to be a priority this summer.
Attacking reinforcements could be on the way too.
It will be interesting to see if Celtic can make the necessary additions to their squad and defend their title next season.
The likes of Rangers will try and challenge them for the domestic crown. If Lennon can keep his star players and then make some additions, Celtic should be favourites to retain their title.
Ntcham and Tierney have been linked with moves away from the club this summer and Lennon will have to work hard to hold on to them.

Report confirms Wolves' bid for 24-yr-old, Mendes trying to facilitate the transfer – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Wolves want to sign the Brazilian defender Wallace from Lazio this summer.
According to the Italian outlet Cittaceleste, the Premier League side have submitted a €6m offer for the 24-year-old.
However, Lazio are holding out for more and Nuno’s side will have to come back with an improved offer if they want to sign him.
Lazio want around €8m for the player this summer. The report adds that Jorge Mendes is trying to facilitate the transfer.
Wallace is not a key player for Lazio and he might be keen on the move. It will be interesting to see if Wolves are willing to pay up for his services now.
The Molineux outfit certainly have the financial means to pull this off.
Nuno could do with some defensive depth in his side and Wallace would be a good signing. He is still far away from his peak and the move to Wolves could help him fulfill his potential.
If Wolves really want to sign him, the extra €2m won’t bother them.
The Premier League side will have to deal with European football next season and they need a bigger squad.
Players like Wallace will add the necessary depth and quality to Nuno’s squad and help them tackle the fixture congestion next year.

'Such a shame' – Some Spurs fans react as Poch's decision stuns 22y/o

'Such a shame' – Some Spurs fans react as Poch's decision stuns 22y/o – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah has been stunned by manager Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to demote him from the first-team to the under-23’s, and will leave this summer.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday but only made 15 appearances, no thanks to hamstring injuries.
Bundesliga quartet Borussia Monchengladbach, Mainz, Augsburg and Frankfurt have all shown an interest in Onomah, and the £10million-rated academy graduate is set to leave North London after four years with Spurs’ first-team.
The England youth international has played 32 games for Tottenham, but the last one came three seasons ago.
Onomah spent 2017–18 on loan at Aston Villa, featuring in 37 games, but he was below par last season even when fully fit.
Flogging him for £10 million will be good business for Spurs, but it remains to be seen if suitors will be keen to part with that amount.
He hasn’t been included in the team’s pre-season tour of Asia, and that he has been asked to train with the youth teams looks like the last straw.
Onomah looked promising a few years ago, but he has since failed to live up to expectations.
Tottenham fans aren’t shocked that Pochettino has demoted him, though and here is how some of them reacted to him being stunned by the manager’s decision on Twitter:

Such a shame … should have been given more chances to prove himself …
— hasanc (@hasanc56523762) July 17, 2019

He’s nowhere near good enough for us
— Adam Brooks (@EssexPR) July 17, 2019

How can he be stunned? Been shipped out on loan and made little impact at championship clubs
— rosey 316 (@rosy316) July 17, 2019

Shocked? Because he’s been so phenomenal in the Championship? I like Josh but it is time to move on for his own sake.
— Aaron Pitters (@aaronpitters) July 17, 2019

Shame for Josh.. Enfield boy.. but he’s simply not good enough.. hasn’t climbed that ladder.. Shame but that’s wot it is .
— Stephen king (@Stephen91314828) July 17, 2019

No one else is stunned
— Steve Coombes (@stevencoombes) July 17, 2019

He shouldn’t be that shocked & stunned – every time I saw him given a chance in the first team he wandered around not looking bothered in the slightest. If that was me, given 20 minutes, I’d be busting a gut all over the pitch…
— Paul Fenton (@THFCFenton) July 17, 2019

I’m with Poch on this one
— Archie (@Archie_Tashjian) July 17, 2019

He couldn’t even get in the Sheffield Wednesday starting eleven, how would he ever get in to ours!?

'Suits the system, calm and composed' – Some West Ham fans loved 27-yr-old's display

'Suits the system, calm and composed' – Some West Ham fans loved 27-yr-old's display – originally posted on Sportslens.com

West Ham lost to Manchester City in the Premier League Asia trophy yesterday.
However, the fans seem quite impressed with Jack Wilshere’s display in the 4-1 defeat.
The former Arsenal midfielder is back to full fitness and he looked sharp for the Londoners.
Wilshere has shown in the past that he can be a top player on his day. West Ham will be hoping to keep him fit for the upcoming season.
The technically gifted Englishman could make a big difference for the Hammers if he plays most of their games.
West Ham could use a creative central midfielder like him alongside Declan Rice.
The 27-year-old will add composure, flair and drive to Pellegrini’s midfield. Wilshere is very good at carrying the ball and West Ham do not have a player like him in their ranks.
Against the top teams, West Ham will require a technically gifted player to control the midfield and Wilshere could be that man for them.
It will be interesting to see if he can keep up his fitness next season.
Here is what the West Ham fans had to say about his performance against the Premier League champions yesterday.

Agreed. Anderson also looked v sharp.
I give Wilshere his due, put him self around alot.
I just think at the end there class with sane, kdb, sterling.. that took the game beyond us.
— Tony⚒ (@WHUFC_Tony) July 18, 2019

— Jody Randall (@jodyrandall) July 18, 2019

Wilshere is our best player, please stay fit this year boy
— Waller (@waller_whu) July 17, 2019

Said it before & I’ll say it again. Jack Wilshere is absolutely class & his footballing brain is on another level 🔥
— Wᴇsᴛ Hᴀᴍ Sᴏᴄɪᴀʟ (@WestHamSocial) July 17, 2019

Said last season that if we could keep him fit he’d easily be one of our best players this season. Suits the system, calm and composed. Plenty of experience. It’s just them darn injuries. Hopefully he gets the better of them this year.
