Report confirms Celtic's bid for 26-yr-old, Hoops want to sign star this week

Report confirms Celtic's bid for 26-yr-old, Hoops want to sign star this week – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Celtic are looking to sign the Cluj striker Bilel Omrani this summer.
Apparently, the Scottish champions have submitted a £3m bid for the 26-year-old striker.
Omrani impressed against Celtic earlier this season and it seems that his performance caught Neil Lennon’s eye.
The Scottish giants are looking to complete the signing before the end of the week.
It will be interesting to see if they manage to sign the Frenchman.
Omrani can play as a wide forward as well and his versatility will be a bonus for Celtic.
Neil Lennon could use another forward and Omrani could prove to be a good addition. For the reported price, he might prove to be a bargain eventually.
Celtic have the money to pull this off, especially after Tierney’s sale. However, they will have to move quickly.
The window closes on the 2nd of September and Celtic cannot afford to lowball and negotiate if they really want the striker.
It will be interesting to see how Omrani performs in Scotland if the deal goes through. He has shown his quality in Europe and he should be able to make a significant impact in the Scottish league as well.

'What a signing he would be' – Some Celtic fans react to links with 23-yr-old midfielder

'What a signing he would be' – Some Celtic fans react to links with 23-yr-old midfielder – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Celtic are eyeing up a move for the Leicester City attacking midfielder Fousseni Diabate.
According to The Scottish Sun, the 23-year-old is available this summer and Celtic are looking to bring him in before the window shuts.
The player could join the Hoops on loan. Apparently, Brendan Rodgers is willing to let him leave in search of regular first team football.
It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal across the line now.
Celtic could definitely use some attacking options and Diabate on a loan deal would be perfect for them.
It would allow them to spend their money on the other positions.
The 23-year-old would be eager to prove himself and he will want to hold down a regular starting berth. The player’s extra motivation to perform well can only benefit Celtic.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming days.
Some of the Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on Diabate and his potential arrival.
Here are some of the reactions from earlier.

That lad is more of an AM playmaker not a wide player.. But he’s Quality and would Certainly Improve our Team in that Area..

Willems sends message to Newcastle fans & Bruce ahead of weekend's clash

Willems sends message to Newcastle fans & Bruce ahead of weekend's clash – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Newcastle United host Watford on Saturday and will look to build on last weekend’s impressive win against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Magpies picked up their first win of the new Premier League campaign at the expense of the North Londoners on Sunday, and manager Steve Bruce will really hope they secure all three points against the Hornets.
Newcastle have some injury worries ahead of the clash, though, with Allan Saint-Maximin and Matt Ritchie ruled out, with the latter expected to miss almost two months of action.
Summer arrival Jetro Willems is most likely to replace the 29-year-old at left-back or left wing-back depending on the formation Bruce deploys, and the Dutchman is raring to go.
The 25-year-old made his debut for Newcastle in the opening weekend of the season, coming off the bench in the 1-0 loss to Arsenal.
Willems did put in an impressive shift during Wednesday’s League Cup clash against Leicester City, providing the assist for the hosts’ goal, and he will be looking forward to proving himself when Watford visit.
Newcastle brought in the versatile defender from Eintracht Frankfurt on a season-long loan, and he definitely wants to earn a permanent move come summer.
Willems has sent out a message to Bruce and the fans on Instagram ahead of tomorrow’s clash, and it’s a very simple one:

Celtic managed to pick up a 4-1 win over AIK in the Europa League earlier and James Forrest put in an impressive display.
The 28-year-old midfielder put in another splendid display for his side and he ended up scoring one and setting one up for his teammate. He scored the opening goal for Celtic and set up one for Morgan.
Forrest has been Celtic’s best player for a while now and he showed exactly why he is adored by the fans.
Popular pundit and former Celtic ace Chris Sutton has lavished praise on the player after his match-winning performance against AIK.

There is no doubt that Forrest has delivered at key moments for Celtic over the years and it will be interesting to see how he performs against Rangers this weekend.
He will be determined to make his mark against the Ibrox outfit.

Gareth Southgate says he is watching Newcastle man closely for England

Gareth Southgate says he is watching Newcastle man closely for England – originally posted on Sportslens.com

England manager Gareth Southgate named his 25-man Three Lions squad for next week’s Euros 2020 qualifiers against Kosovo and Bulgaria yesterday.
Aston Villa’s Tyron Mings and Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka were handed their maiden call-ups, and while no Newcastle United player made the list, the boss has claimed goalkeeper Freddie Woodman is being watched closely.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan with Championship side Swansea City and has played in all of their five league games so far.
Woodman has kept two clean sheets and helped the Welsh side to four victories and a draw.

Bright future for Freddie Woodman? 🦁

— The Chronicle (@ChronicleNUFC) August 30, 2019

The trio of Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Aston Villa’s Tom Heaton and Burnley’s Nick Pope were the three goalkeepers called up for the last squad, and the Newcastle man has a lot of work to do if he is to break into the team.
From the look of things, Woodman is on the right path, and after helping the under-20’s to the FIFA Youth World Cup in 2017, Southgate is hoping he can step up to the senior team sooner or later.
The Toons goalie has only featured four times for the Saint James’ Park, and is yet to play a league game for them since arriving on Tyneside from Crystal Palace’s Academy in 2013.

"We need to be careful" – Pellegrini sends Norwich warning to West Ham

"We need to be careful" – Pellegrini sends Norwich warning to West Ham – originally posted on Sportslens.com

West Ham United host Norwich City on Saturday and there is a lot to play for with both teams in search of their second league victories of the Premier League campaign.
The Hammers secured a 3-1 win away from home at Watford’s expense last weekend following a 5-0 defeat to Manchester City during the opening weekend of the season and a 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion the following weekend.
Despite losses to Liverpool and Chelsea, Norwich proved they are capable of holding their own against teams outside the top-six, condemning Newcastle United to a 3-1 defeat on matchday 2.
Last season’s Championship winners have proven they can score goals, and West Ham’s defence is in for a big test.
The Hammers are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, and how they fare against Finnish striker Teemu Pukki will be interesting to see.
The 29-year-old has hit the ground running in the top-flight so far, scoring five goals after emerging as the Championship’s highest goalscorer last term.
Pukki has scored in every of Norwich’s league games and he will fancy his chances of finding the back of the net against the Hammers.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini is aware of the threat he poses and has warned his side to be careful with him.
“When you change the competitions you play, maybe some feel the difference between the Championship and the Premier League,” the Chilean said during his pre-match conference.
“We know what Pukki did in the Championship last season, he is now demonstrating the Premier League is not big for him, scoring four goals in three games.
“We need to be careful with him.”
West Ham’s chances of winning will probably be dependent on how their defence fare against the Finland international, and an exciting battle should be anticipated.
