West Ham midfielder Michail Antonio has heaped praise on his teammate Declan Rice.
Speaking to the club’s official website he revealed that Rice has been the best player at the club this past season.
Antonio claimed that Lukasz Fabianski has had a very good season as well but Rice remains his pick for the West Ham player of the year.
He said: “Declan Rice. It’s just his second season but he has been a regular in the team in midfield. He’s still so young and he’s been unbelievable for us. It was going to be him or Lukasz Fabianski, but I’m going to go for Dec.”
The youngster has had a breakthrough season with the Hammers and he will be hoping to build on this and return as a better player next season.
Rice is already a key player for Manuel Pellegrini and he is only going to get better with age.
The West Ham defensive midfielder has managed to establish himself as one of the best in his position, in the league.
He will be delighted with these comments from his teammates.
However, Rice needs to keep his head down and focus on his development now. The youngster has a lot to learn and he is not even close to fulfilling his tremendous potential yet.

West Ham are interested in signing the Saint-Etienne midfielder Yann M’Vila.
According to L’Equipe (report translated by SportWitness), the 28-year-old could leave the club if the Saint-Etienne manager, Jean-Louis Gasset, is shown the door.
M’Vila shares a close relationship with him and Gasset’s future is currently uncertain.
It will be interesting to see if the Hammers make a move for the Frenchman. West Ham certainly have the resources to pull off the deal this summer.
At one point, M’Vila was very highly rated around Europe but he hasn’t developed properly and his potential remains unfulfilled.
However, the 28-year-old is good enough to be a useful option for Pellegrini if the move goes through. He could replace an ageing Mark Noble in the starting lineup.
M’Vila has played in England with Sunderland before and he knows the conditions well. He should be able to adapt quickly.
Manuel Pellegrini is a top quality coach and he might be able to bring out the best in the player.
M’Vila is an assured passer of the ball and West Ham need a midfield enforcer like him to control games better. He could be the ideal partner for Declan Rice.

The likes of Bamford have been inconsistent and someone like Aye could be a handy option off the bench.
Clermont signed the player from Auxerre last summer and they will not want to sell him just yet. However, Leeds should use their pull to convince the player.
The Championship is a step up from Ligue 2 and the player might just be tempted.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham make their move for the player anytime soon.
Pepe is likely to cost a lot of money and that could be an issue for the Londoners. Tottenham have always been frugal in the transfer market.
However, they did not sign a single player last summer and Levy might decide the back the manager significantly this summer.
Furthermore, if Eriksen leaves the club this summer, Spurs will have the money to splash out on a marquee signing.
