Popular pundit makes an interesting prediction about Everton vs West Ham

Everton host West Ham in the Premier League this week and Paul Merson believes that the two sides will cancel each other out.
The Hammers have lost all of their league games so far and they will be desperate to get back to winning ways. Manuel Pellegrini’s men cannot afford to lose another game.
They will be playing the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in their next two matches and starting the campaign with seven defeats would be catastrophic.
The fans would have expected a lot more after the massive summer outlay but the team has failed miserably so far.
Meanwhile, Everton have made a decent start under Marco Silva and they will be looking for a win here. However, they have a number of injuries to deal with and it won’t be easy for them.
West Ham did alright against Arsenal and Wolves and they are perfectly capable of getting a result here.
Merson believes that a score draw is on the cards here.
He said: “Woooah. Massive match. If West Ham get beaten here, they could be up against it. Look at their next two fixtures: Chelsea and Manchester United. They could start the season with seven straight defeats! However, Everton have got a lot of players missing for this one. And in fairness to West Ham, they could have beaten Arsenal and Wolves with a little more luck. Score draw.”

'Needs to go' – Some Spurs fans slam experienced player after Liverpool defeat

'Needs to go' – Some Spurs fans slam experienced player after Liverpool defeat – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham crashed to a 2-1 defeat against Liverpool yesterday.
The Londoners put on a lackluster display against Jurgen Klopp’s men and they were rightly punished. The home side were lucky to lose 2-1 in the end. The Reds could have had more goals.
Decision making in the final third let down the away side and they will be disappointed to have scored just twice.
Meanwhile, Tottenham players looked tired and they lacked sharpness. The likes of Vorm, Dembele and Eriksen continued to make mistakes throughout the game and the likes of Kane barely had a chance.
Vorm’s errors allowed Liverpool to score twice and the fans will be hoping to see Lloris back in the side soon.
After the win over Manchester United, Spurs have now lost two League games in a row and they cannot afford to keep falling behind if they want to challenge for the title.
Tottenham’s decision to not sign a player during the summer window is already proving costly. Pochettino could have used more options in order to rotate.
Here is how the Spurs fans reacted to their defeat.

2-1 is a great result in comparison to what it should have been 🤷‍♂️
Anyway…. on to the next #COYS

'Outstanding', 'Tremendous' – Some Rangers fans react to their win over Dundee

'Outstanding', 'Tremendous' – Some Rangers fans react to their win over Dundee – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Rangers secured an impressive 4-0 win over Dundee in the Scottish Premiership last night.
Goals from Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Kent, James Tavernier and Glenn Middleton earned three valuable points for the hosts.
Dundee came into the game on the back of four league defeats and Neil McCann will be disappointed with his side’s reaction at Ibrox. The away side were expected to put up a fight at the very least.
Rangers are now two points behind bitter rivals Celtic and they will be hoping to close that gap in the coming weeks. Steven Gerrard’s men have drawn a fair few this season and he will be delighted to have got back to winning ways here.
Coulibaly scored his side’s opening goal from close range with just four minutes played before Kent doubled the advantage.
James Tavernier scored a penalty before half time after Darren O’Dea brought Alfredo Morelos down in the box with a clumsy challenge.
Substitute Glenn Middleton then made it 4-0 with his first senior goal in the second half.
The likes of Lafferty and Connor Goldson had chances to increase the lead but the home fans will be delighted with the overall performance from the side.
Here is how they reacted to the win.

'Million miles behind Celtic' – Popular pundit comments on Rangers' title chances

'Million miles behind Celtic' – Popular pundit comments on Rangers' title chances – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Former Celtic player John Hartson believes Rangers have no chance of winning the Scottish Premiership this season.
Hartson claims that Steven Gerrard’s men are a million miles away in terms of quality and they won’t even finish second in the table. He also added that there is too much hype surrounding the Gers right now.
He said: “No chance, I still think it’ll be 15 points. And I think Aberdeen will finish second. It was all hyped. They had a big point to prove in terms of ‘can they go up against Celtic toe-for-toe?’ They clearly showed that they can’t. The result should’ve been four or five, if it wasn’t for McGregor. Celtic hit the bar four times, hit the post. It was an annihilation; I have to say that. Neil Lennon said as well, there’s still a lot to do, a lot of hype around Gerrard coming. They had some good results in the Europa League, I’m not denying that, but I still think they’re a million miles behind Celtic.”
Steven Gerrard’s side are currently two points behind Celtic and despite the derby day defeat, they have had a reasonably good start to their season. Rangers have been very impressive in Europe as well.
Although there is no doubt that Celtic have more quality in their squad, it seems foolish to write Rangers off just yet.
Brendan Rodgers’ men haven’t been setting the league alight either and it could be a close contest between the two teams this season.
Celtic will be favourites to win the title but Rangers are likely to challenge them till the end.

Right-winger could be Arsenal’s next signing, £26.7m star being ‘closely monitored’

Right-winger could be Arsenal’s next signing, £26.7m star being ‘closely monitored’ – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to Le 10 Sport, Lille right-winger Nicholas Pepe could be Arsenal’s next signing, with the Ligue 1 star being ‘closely monitored’ by the Gunners. Pepe has interest from Bundesliga side Schalke 04, but the German outfit reportedly offer only £17.8m for his signature which was shy of his £26.7m asking price.
The 23-year-old joined Lille from SCO Angers in 2017 and has gone on to make 42 appearances, scoring and creating 23 goals. He’s lit up the division in the last 12 months and could be rewarded for his form with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Le 10 Sport believe the Gunners are very keen to make a move and that Pepe is open to a transfer.
Should Arsenal meet his asking price, the winger could make the switch when the winter transfer window opens in January. The two clubs are believed to have spoken to one another about Arsenal’s intentions, but it could be argued that they aren’t short of attacking options currently – Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck.
The next window doesn’t open for more than three months, so time will tell if Arsenal come back for Pepe in January.

The North West club have lost just one of their last 15 meetings with Watford and are strongly fancied to pick up three points this weekend.
Watford are priced at 3/1 to win the game, with United available at 10/11 and the draw on offer at 5/2.

Popular pundit makes a worrying prediction about the Tottenham game

Popular pundit makes a worrying prediction about the Tottenham game – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted a narrow defeat for Tottenham against Liverpool this weekend.
The Londoners were beaten by Watford last time out and this is a tougher challenge for them.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have won all of their Premier League games so far and they will be looking to extend that run here.
Having said that, Spurs are a very good side themselves and one defeat against Watford is unlikely to affect their confidence.
This should be a close contest and Liverpool will have to play very well to win at Wembley.
Merson believes that Liverpool will trouble Spurs on the counter and the home side will struggle to contain the away attack.
The popular pundit added that this is an important game for Spurs and they will need to react accordingly. Also, he stated that Liverpool will have to win these games if they want to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.
He said: “I fancy Liverpool based on the counter-attack game. This game is bigger for Tottenham than it is for Liverpool – this is a game Spurs can’t afford to lose, they’ve got to have a go especially after what happened at Watford. Liverpool will pick them off. If you want to win Premier League titles then you have to win these games, so Liverpool will be judged on this too. I think they’ll win this one but toppling Manchester City for the title will be so difficult.”
Merson expects Liverpool to win 2-1 against Spurs.

Predicted Tottenham XI v LFC: Pochettino set to make one change, 4 players ruled out – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham will look to bounce back from their defeat against Watford when they take on Liverpool at Wembley.
The Londoners have had a good start to the season but Pochettino will know that the loss against Watford was avoidable. The fans will be expecting a big reaction from the players here.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have made the perfect start to their league campaign winning all of their games so far. Jurgen Klopp’s men will fancy their chances here.
The away side will be hoping to avenge the thrashing at Wembley from last season and this should be a fascinating contest.
The home side will be without the services of Foyth, Alli, Lloris and Janssen for this one. Pochettino is likely to make just one change to his starting lineup with Dier coming in to replace Alli.
Liverpool will be without Lallana, Lovren and Chamberlain because of injuries.
Predicted Tottenham Starting Lineup (3-5-2): Vorm; Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sanchez; Trippier, Eriksen, Dier, Dembele, Davies; Kane, Moura
Predicted Liverpool Starting Lineup (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Keita, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Liverpool

Pundit gives verdict on Millwall vs Leeds, says injury issues are a "huge blow"

Pundit gives verdict on Millwall vs Leeds, says injury issues are a "huge blow" – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United visit Millwall on Saturday aiming to maintain their place at the top of the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are level on 14 points with Middlesbrough after six games, but injuries to key players could hit their hopes this weekend.
Patrick Bamford has been ruled out for four months with a knee injury, while Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez will also miss the game.
Despite the problems, former Leeds midfielder David Prutton has tipped the Whites to pick up a 1-1 draw at The Den (11/2 with Sky Bet).
“Leeds are facing their first mini crisis of the season after losing both their strikers to injury this week,” he told Sky Sports.
“Bamford being ruled out for several months is a huge blow and Roofe will also miss the trip to Millwall.
“This will give Millwall a huge boost after a run of three straight defeats, especially after throwing away that lead against 10-man Swansea before the break.
“If Roofe was fit I’d have to back another Leeds win here, but without him I’m going to go for a draw.”
Millwall did the double over Leeds last season, winning 1-0 at home and 4-3 at Elland Road.
The home side are priced at 19/10, with Leeds available at 11/8 and the draw on offer at 12/5.

Pundit gives verdict on Blackburn vs Villa, tips tempting correct score

Pundit gives verdict on Blackburn vs Villa, tips tempting correct score – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Blackburn Rovers face Aston Villa on Saturday with both sides eager to bounce back from disappointing defeats in their last games.
Rovers lost at Bristol City, while Villa crashed heavily at Sheffield United, meaning both lost their unbeaten records on the same weekend.
Sky Sports‘ pundit David Prutton believes Saturday’s clash will be an entertaining affair and has tipped a 2-2 scoreline with Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia to score first (70/1 with Sky Bet).
“Both of these sides suffered humbling defeats in their last game and have been forced to dwell on them during the international break,” he said.
“While Blackburn threw away a lead to lose 4-1 at Bristol, Aston Villa were thumped pretty much from the off at Sheffield.
“There’s no doubt that Blackburn have been missing Bradley Dack, because he is absolutely crucial to their hopes this season.
“Villa score and concede plenty and for that reason I’m going for a score draw.”
The two sides last met at Ewood Park back in April 2017, with Danny Graham’s goal securing a 1-0 win for Rovers.
Tony Mowbray’s team are priced at 13/8, with Villa on offer at 13/8 and the draw available at 11/5.
