Celtic maintained their unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership after they earned a 1-0 victory against Hamilton Academical on Saturday.
James Forrest scored the only goal of the match in the opening four minutes, as Celtic won their fifth league game of the season.
Former Celtic striker turned popular football pundit Chris Sutton took to social networking site Twitter to express his reaction after the match. He tweeted:

[email protected] Celtic not fantastic on the plastic but an important 3 points⚽️⚽️⚽️
— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) September 14, 2019

Celtic were not at their best today but the Bhoys did enough to pick up all three points.
Debutant Mohamed Elyounoussi made a strong impact and it was from his cross early in a first half Forrest scored.
Forrest crashed a shot off the crossbar after the break but Hamilton did well to prevent the Hoops for increasing the lead.
They made life increasingly difficult for the champions and created a couple of good chances.
Celtic enjoyed 73% of possession during the game, and registered 12 shots of which they managed to keep only two on target.
With this result, the Hoops have now increased their lead at the top with Rangers to six points. The Gers will face Livingston later in the day.

Liverpool boss shuffles forward pack, Newcastle play it safe

Liverpool host Newcastle United on Saturday aiming to retain their 100% record in the Premier League.
The Reds head into the weekend two points ahead of Manchester City and will be eager to retain their advantage over the reigning champions.
Newcastle have bounced back from a disappointing start to the campaign by picking up four points from their last two matches to climb to 14th in the standings.
Liverpool completed the double over Newcastle last season and are strongly fancied to win again this weekend.
The Magpies haven’t won at Anfield in the league since 1994 and were thumped 4-0 in last season’s corresponding fixture.
Liverpool are big favourites to pick up another three points on Saturday and this should be a banker home win.
Confirmed starting line-ups:

Terry told Grealish this week he is as good as any Englishman in one thing

Terry told Grealish this week he is as good as any Englishman in one thing – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to The Athletic, Aston Villa assistant manager John Terry told Jack Grealish in training this week that his driving runs from midfield are as good as he has ever seen from an Englishman.
The Villa skipper produced one during the 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace two weeks ago, and it led to a goal that was wrongly disallowed by referee Kevin Friend.
Grealish was also booked for allegedly diving, but replays show both Wilfried Zaha and Gary Cahill impeded him, and manager Dean Smith, the players and the fans were surely left disappointed with the farcical decision.
Nevertheless, the 24-year-old proved his driving runs can cause all sorts of problems for the opposition this season, and will be hoping they can lead to goals more often.
Grealish has only assisted once in the league campaign this term, but he definitely will start firing on all cylinders sooner or later, and the earlier, the better for Villa.
The midfielder helped his side secure top-flight promotion last season, making the Championship Team of the Year after a brilliant campaign, and he now has to step up given the gulf between both leagues.
The fact that Terry believes his runs are lethargic speaks volume, and it’s an attacking weapon Grealish must master to perfection in order to achieve his and the club’s goals this term.

'Who cares, amazing statement': Some Celtic fans react to what Rangers player has just said

'Who cares, amazing statement': Some Celtic fans react to what Rangers player has just said – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Glasgow Rangers lost 2-0 against Celtic in the Old Firm derby clash at Ibrox before the international break.
The Gers defender George Edmundson has said recently that he expects Neil Lennon’s side will slip up at some point this season.
Edmundson joined the Ibrox club in the summer transfer window from Oldham Athletic and has found himself on the fringes.
The 22-year-old is yet to start in the Scottish Premiership for the Gers. However, he was confident that Celtic, who won back to back domestic trebles, will drop points at some stage during the campaign. He is certain that the Hoops will not go the whole season remaining unbeaten.
Rangers made a good start to the 2019-20 Scottish Premiership campaign, but they suffered a 2-0 defeat against Celtic, and as a result, slipped into the second position behind the Bhoys.
He said to the Scottish Sun: “It’s still early days in the season and I’m sure Celtic will slip up at some point.
“I don’t think they are going to go the whole season unbeaten. It was a little hiccup but there’s a long season of ups and downs to come.”
Celtic fans are expecting the Bhoys to win the title this season, and they have taken to Twitter to express their reaction on Edmundson’s latest comments.
Here are some of the selected tweets:

'Oozes confidence': 28-year-old names the Leeds player who has been 'unbelievable' so far

'Oozes confidence': 28-year-old names the Leeds player who has been 'unbelievable' so far – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper has showered heaps of praise on summer signing Ben White, saying he has been unbelieve for the club so far.
The 28-year-old defender, who believes that Leeds now have a stronger squad than last season, says that White has been playing with so much confidence as if he has played over 600 league games.
White joined Leeds in the summer from Brighton on loan and has hugely impressed since his debut. The 21-year-old has produced commanding displays at the heart of defence alongside Cooper, and has received rave reviews from fans, pundits, players, and his club manager as well.
The 21-year-old has played every minute of Leeds’ Championship campaign so far and has established himself as a key member of Marcelo Bielsa’s promotion-chasing squad.
White has made 25 interceptions in six Championship appearances, the best in the Championship, and 9 more than any other Championship defender.
Cooper says that if White continues to perform like this and keeps his attitude right, he will have an amazing career.
White has arguably been Leeds’ standout performer in the Championship, and his mix of calmness and intelligence fits perfectly in Bielsa’s expansive style of play.
“I have had a lot of people say to me how good is he and I have said he is top, he is going to be unbelievable,” said Cooper to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“He’s 21 years old and he plays the game as if he has played 600 league games.
“He’s so calm on the ball and it helps us.
“It oozes confidence through us and he’s been unbelievable so far but it’s a 46 game season and he’s got to keep his head right and keep his attitude right and he’ll go on to have an amazing career.”

International manager wants Poch to give teenager linked with Juve more chances

International manager wants Poch to give teenager linked with Juve more chances – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy wants Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott to get more first-team actions this term so he can call him up to his squad.
He has insisted the youngster needs regular first-team football at club level before he can be selected for Ireland’s senior side.
The 17-year-old impressed for his country’s under-21s during the international break, scoring thrice, but he is yet to feature for Spurs this term despite featuring heavily during their pre-season tour, featuring against Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich.
It seems Parrott impressed the Italians, with Calciomercato claiming they are interested in him and have identified him as a potential future target.
With 21 goals in 31 appearances for Tottenham’s various youth sides, Parrott definitely has huge potential and has been tipped to make his competitive debut in the League Cup against Colchester United in September.
It remains to be seen if Spurs will be willing to let such a huge prospect go, but having lost Marcus Edwards this summer, nothing is guaranteed, and the teenage sensation could be on his way out if suitors promise him regular senior team football.
Tottenham can’t allow Parrott leave as he surely can be their next Harry Kane, and it will be interesting to see how they handle things.

'Definitely': Leeds star says they have something this season that Bielsa has always wanted

'Definitely': Leeds star says they have something this season that Bielsa has always wanted – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper feels that the Whites now have a stronger squad than last season.
The Yorkshire club narrowly missed out on promotion last season. They are one of the favourites to go up this term, and Cooper believes Leeds have enough depth in their squad.
Leeds lost two key players this summer in the form of Pontus Jansson and Kemar Roofe. However, Marcelo Bielsa has made some fantastic signings this summer.
Leeds will return to action after the international break with Sunday’s Championship clash at Barnsley.
The Whites signed Ben White, Helder Costa, Eddie Nketiah and Illan Meslier in the summer, while reloaning Jack Harrison from Manchester City as well.
Furthermore, Jack Clarke will play for the rest of the season on loan after signing for Tottenham Hotspur.
With Luke Ayling and Tyler Roberts also close to returning to full fitness, Cooper feels that Leeds have enough depth in every position.
“I think the squad is definitely stronger,” said Cooper to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“We have brought top quality players in and we have got players coming back from injury now as well.
“I think Luke and Tyler are both close and the squad is so much stronger in depth.
“We have got two or three players for every position at the minute and that’s what Marcelo has always wanted.”
Leeds have made a strong start to their 2019-20 Championship campaign, winning four of their opening six games.

Predicted West Ham starting XI vs Villa: Pellegrini to make one change, 23-year-old to start

Predicted West Ham starting XI vs Villa: Pellegrini to make one change, 23-year-old to start – originally posted on Sportslens.com

The Premier League returns this weekend after the international break but West Ham will have to wait till Monday to get their next match underway.
The Hammers will face the newly-promoted Premier League side Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday night.
After suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat against Manchester City in their opening match, West Ham have bounced back strongly in the league.
The Hammers have won back to back Premier League games against Watford and Norwich and drew 1-1 against Brighton away from home.
Ahead of the match, Manuel Pellegrini has told in the press conference that all his players are fit except Winston Reid and Michail Antonio, who has had surgery on his leg.
Pellegrini is likely to keep the same squad for the trip to Villa Park, although the Chilean could make one or two changes to the side that won against Norwich.
Andriy Yarmolenko has returned to form and he was impressive during West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Norwich City before the international break.
However, Pellegrini could use him from the bench keeping in mind the 29-year-old was also involved for his country during the international break. Pablo Fornals could start in his place.
Predicted West Ham starting line-up: Fabianski, Ogbonna, Diop, Fredericks, Masuaku, Noble, Rice, Lanzini, Anderson, Fornals, Haller.

'Ffs, crying now': Some Villa fans react to latest injury blow

'Ffs, crying now': Some Villa fans react to latest injury blow – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Aston Villa will face West Ham United in their next Premier League clash at Villa Park on Monday night.
In the pre-match press conference, Villa boss Dean Smith has confirmed that Jonathan Kodjia will miss the game against the Hammers.
Villa have been dealt a big blow as Kodjia has suffered a fractured cheekbone in a freak training ground accident.
The Ivory Coast international suffered a clash of heads with midfielder Marvelous Nakamba during training and he is now set for a longer spell on the sidelines.
According to reports from the Express and Star, the 29-year-old has undergone surgery and he is expected to miss between two to three weeks.
His injury looks more severe than first thought. Kodjia recently recovered from an ankle sprain suffered in the opening day 3-1 defeat to Tottenham. Smith has confirmed that Kodjia has undergone an operation.
“He’ll be back non-contact at first, and we’ve seen how you can wear masks, we’ll certainly be looking at that longer down the line,” said Smith.
“He’d had some bad luck, the first challenge he went in for at Tottenham after coming on, he got an ankle injury, he carried on, but from then on he was struggling.
“But he’s come back to fitness and the first thing he does is clash heads with Marvelous, ends up in hospital and unfortunately needs an operation.”
As a result, Villa now have Wesley and Keinan Davis as their only fit centre-forwards. Some Villa fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their reactions:

He’s been out for 2 years imo

That’s another big lose he can be a great super sub. Really looks like not getting a second striker will come back to haunt us. Guess we will be getting one in Jan. Kodjia has had an awful time of injuries with us.

Shows we should have bought another striker! Only criticism of our super summer transfer window #AVFC

The newly-promoted Premier League side have made a sluggish start to the season, having lost three of their opening four games in the league.

Liverpool star has a message for Joelinton ahead of Premier League clash

Liverpool star has a message for Joelinton ahead of Premier League clash – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Newcastle United visit Anfield tomorrow to face Champions League winners Liverpool, and unsurprisingly, many are expecting the hosts to stroll to a comfortable win.
After shocking Tottenham Hotspur away from home two weeks ago, Steve Bruce men will fancy their chances – however slim they are – of leaving Merseyside with at least a point.
Brazilian striker Joelinton scored the only goal as Newcastle shocked Spurs, and he will be keen to prove himself against a side like Liverpool.
The Magpies club-record signing will come up against the best centre-back in the league in Virgil van Dijk, and an interesting individual battle should be anticipated.
Reds striker Roberto Firmino believes the 23-year-old can be a success in the English top-flight, but he isn’t wishing him luck for Saturday’s clash.
“I hope he also succeeds in England and continues to evolve in his career,” Firmino told Globo Esporte.
“It’s always good to be able to face Brazilian players here in Europe. It’s nice to see so many being successful. Joelinton is one of them. Like me, he left Brazil early and went to Hoffenheim.
“And now he’s here playing the Premier League. For his style of play, he has everything to make it work. But don’t come and have fun on Saturday(laughs).”
Anfield has turned to a fortress, and with Jurgen Klopp’s men unbeaten in their last 42 league games, Newcastle will have to be on top of their game to have a chance of causing an upset.
Liverpool have won 32 league games and drawn 10 since losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace in April 2017, scoring 110 goals, conceding 21 and keeping 26 clean sheets.
They have won all four of their league games this term, currently topping the table, and the Toons have a big task in front of them.
Can Joelinton prove himself against one of the best defences in the league?
Helping Newcastle to a result will surely gladden the hearts of the fans and catch the eyes of the Brazil national team selectors.
