According to journalist and transfer expert, Nicolo Schira, Everton are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Inter Milan midfielder Matis Vecino in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old joined Inter in 2017 and has made 88 appearances for the club in all competitions. This season, he has made 10 starts in Serie A, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
The 41-times capped Uruguayan international could be allowed to leave the club this month as Inter are reportedly close to signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur.

Schira claims that Everton have submitted a bid in the region of €15M (£12.6m), but Inter are demanding a value of around €20M. Everton are willing to offer him a long-term contract at Goodison Park that will keep him till 2024.

#Everton are in advanced talks with #Inter to close Mathias #Vecino. Toffees have offered €15M, but Inter ask more (€20M). For him is ready a contract until 2024. #transfers #EFC

Vecino has been targeted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. However, it seems, Everton are leading the race for his signature, and an agreement can be reached between the two clubs.
The Toffees are also looking to bolster their forward line and Carlo Ancelotti has earmarked Brazilian striker Everton Soares as a potential option.

Tottenham Hotspur managed a 1-1 draw against Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round at St Mary’s on Saturday.
Both the managers selected strong line-ups and the match lived up to expectations with both teams delivering a game that was high on quality and chances.
Spurs took the lead in the second half through Son Heung-Min who scored with a low finish from Giovani Lo Celso’s excellent pass.
Southampton produced a brave fight-back with Danny Ings squandering several opportunities. The former Liverpool striker set up Sofian Boufal who equalised in the 87th minute.
Lo Celso was superb during the game. The Argentine international is growing in confidence with every game, and he is gradually developing into a key player for Jose Mourinho.
The 23-year-old, however, is on loan from Real Betis at the north London club. But Mourinho has confirmed after the game that the club will execute the option of signing him permanently.
Former Tottenham player Graham Roberts took to Twitter to express his reaction to the news.

Wonderful news wonderful player

Lo Celso could play a huge role for Spurs this season especially with Christian Eriksen likely to leave the club this month.
He is winning the hearts and minds of the Spurs fans, and had his name sung by the visiting supporters in the second half of the match.

Celtic put up a dominant performance to beat Ross County 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday at Celtic Park.
Odsonne Edouard scored twice and Callum McGregor scored from the spot to earn all three points for the Bhoys who have moved five points clear of Rangers, having played two games more.
Former Celtic striker John Hartson took to social networking site Twitter to express his reaction after the game. He tweeted:

Well done Celtic.. another win edouard at the double
— John Hartson (@JohnHartson10) January 25, 2020

McGregor’s penalty before the break gave Celtic the lead. Edouard scored twice inside four minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
Edouard had been left on the bench with a slight toe injury, but he made a solid impact after coming on for Leigh Griffiths.

The French striker has now scored his 20th goal of the season, and has proved once again why he is so valuable for Neil Lennon’s side.
Ross County remain four points above the relegation play-off spot, and have now gone five games without a win.
Celtic enjoyed 69% of possession, and attempted 14 shots during the game, according to BBC Sport.

Report claims 22-yr-old Frenchman is looking to join Leeds United this month

Report claims 22-yr-old Frenchman is looking to join Leeds United this month – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United are looking to bring in a striker this month.
RB Leipzig’s Jean-Kevin Augustin has been linked with a move to Elland Road.
According to L’Equipe, the Frenchman is keen on signing for the Whites and he wants to work with Marcelo Bielsa.
Augustin is currently on loan at AS Monaco but he isn’t too happy with his role. It will be interesting to see if Leeds can agree on a loan deal for him until the end of the season.
Leeds need to improve their attacking options and Augustin would be a superb signing. If he can regain his sharpness with Bielsa’s help, he will prove to be a very handy option.
Currently, Leeds are reliant on the inconsistent Patrick Bamford for goals. Eddie Nketiah’s return to Arsenal has hurt Leeds and they must bring in a proper replacement.
Augustin was very highly rated during his time at Leipzig and he has the talent to shine in English football. A fresh start at Leeds would be ideal for him right now.
He scored 20 goals in two seasons with the German club.
As per the reports, any deal for the forward would be a loan with an option to buy in the summer.
If Leeds secure promotion to the Premier League, they can easily afford to sign the striker permanently.

'Most interested in the English league': Spurs boosted in the race to sign 24 y/o in-demand player

'Most interested in the English league': Spurs boosted in the race to sign 24 y/o in-demand player – originally posted on Sportslens.com
With only a few days left to go, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to land a striker in the January transfer window.
Spurs have already signed Gedson Fernandes on loan, but signing a striker is necessary following the injury to Harry Kane which could rule him out till April.
The north London club have been heavily linked with a move for AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek who has struggled to hit his best form at the San Siro.
The 24-year-old has scored just five goals in 19 appearances this season, and he is expected to drop down the pecking order following the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Piatek was in outstanding form last season where he netted 19 goals in 21 games for Genoa. The Polish striker could be on the move, and the player’s father has revealed that his son prefers a move to the Premier League.
“Krzysztof wants to define himself. He certainly does not agree with the role of the substitute. He wants to play so he can be in shape for the Euros, so he must perform regularly. He is willing to change club. He is most interested in the English league.
“It seems to me that Krzysztof is already mentally focused on leaving. Of course, if nobody puts out the money, it may turn out that Krzysztof will not go anywhere, but for English clubs, €35million (£30 million) is not much,” Władysław Piatek said.
The comments made by Piatek’s father will come as a huge boost for Spurs. However, it remains to be seen whether the north London club would be willing to spend the money on Piatek as they are mainly keen on a loan deal this month.
He is a player in demand at the moment, with Football London reporting that Aston Villa and Newcastle United have also been linked with a move.

'Looks class', 'great addition': Some West Ham fans react to latest transfer update

'Looks class', 'great addition': Some West Ham fans react to latest transfer update – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Many West Ham fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their reaction to reports linking the club with a move for Tomas Soucek in the January transfer window.
The Hammers are looking to bolster their midfield this month, with the club heavily reliant on Declan Rice and Mark Noble.
West Ham were interested in signing Gedson Fernandes but the Benfica prodigy joined London rivals Tottenham Hotspur instead.
It seems the Hammers have earmarked Soucek as a potential option. Here are some of the selected tweets from the West Ham fans:

Would be a great addition either beside or as understudy for Rice (need another DM incase Rice misses games). We could still do with a B2B midfielder (or 2) though.#GSBOUT

Players saying no because they know their wages will be cut 50% in the case of relegation. Why would anyone come knowing that?
— columbus christopher (@Christophercol) January 24, 2020

Football London reported yesterday that West Ham are ‘exploring a deal’ to sign Soucek in the January transfer window.
The midfielder is valued at around €25 million. However, the Hammers can get him at half the price, that is around £10.9 million if a deal can be struck.

The 25-times capped Czech Republic international has been in very good form this season having scored 10 goals already.
However, the Hammers are unlikely to pay the money now. They are looking to sign him on loan with a view to to making the move permanent in the summer.
It remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement with Slavia Prague over his signature.

Report: West Ham have been 'offered' £25m int'l this month…but there's a catch

Report: West Ham have been 'offered' £25m int'l this month…but there's a catch – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to reports from the Daily Star, West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign CSKA Moscow striker Fyodor Chalov in the January transfer window.
The Hammers are looking to bolster their squad in the remaining few days of the transfer window and signing a striker is a priority for David Moyes.
Sebastien Haller arrived from Frankfurt for £36m last summer, but he has managed only six goals thus far. Albian Ajeti has also failed to make a big impact.
The 21-year-old striker has been targeted by both West Ham and Chelsea but it seems they won’t be able to broker a deal for him.

Neither of the two London clubs are willing to pay CSKA’s £25 million asking price for the striker while the Russian club are reluctant to send him away on loan.
Moyes has previously stated the need to sign new players this month, but so far there hasn’t been enough action from them in the transfer market.
West Ham are also looking to bolster their midfield this month and are reportedly interested in signing Tomas Soucek.

Reliable journalist provides latest update on Augustin, massive boost for Leeds

Reliable journalist provides latest update on Augustin, massive boost for Leeds – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United are heavily interested in signing Jean-Kevin Augustin in the January transfer window.
Marcelo Bielsa is reportedly a keen admirer of the striker who has struggled to make an impact for AS Monaco this season on loan.
Phil Hay of The Athletic reported on his Twitter account this morning that the player’s agent is trying to take him away from Monaco, and that Augustin is keen to join Leeds.
Leeds won’t be able to table a formal offer until Monaco agree to send him back to the Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
However, it seems, Leeds have a golden chance here to secure a deal for him. According to Mike McGrath of The Telegraph, Monaco are ready to cut his loan short this month which will allow him to secure a loan move elsewhere before next Friday’s transfer deadline.

Monaco have given Jean-Kévin Augustin permission to cut short his loan from RB Leipzig. Leeds among the teams interested in the striker. Has only played for #ASMonaco this season and free to join another club. #LUFC #rbleipzig
— Mike McGrath (@mcgrathmike) January 25, 2020

The news will come as a huge boost for Leeds, and the Whites should quickly make a move ahead of other potential suitors to secure a loan deal for him.
The 22-year-old striker has started just two league games for Monaco since joining in the summer. He has scored just once in 13 games for the French club.

Leipzig paid £12 million when they signed him from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Augustin has scored 20 goals in 67 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
Leeds are badly in need of a striker following the departure of Eddie Nketiah. The Yorkshire club made three attempts to sign Southampton striker Che Adams this month, but faced rejection every time.

'All confirmed': Journalist claims Everton 'want to close' deals for two Jan targets

'All confirmed': Journalist claims Everton 'want to close' deals for two Jan targets – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to journalist and transfer expert, Nicolo Schira, Everton are closing in on double deals for Everton Soares and Matias Vecino in the January transfer window.
He claims that the Toffees are looking to finalise the deals for the two players, and that talks are ongoing at the moment.

All confirmed! #Everton want to close for #Everton (Gremio) and #Vecino (Inter). Talks ongoing. #transfers #EFC https://t.co/ICwyDYwws3
— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) January 24, 2020

Vecino has been targeted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Toffees remained the ”most credible option” for the 28-year-old midfielder who has dropped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte.
Last week, FC Inter News claimed that Inter Milan would accept an offer in the region of €18-20m (£17m) for the midfielder. With Christian Eriksen close to signing for Inter Milan, the Serie A giants are ready to offload the midfielder.

Schira also claims that the Toffees are close to signing Brazilian striker Everton Soares this month.
Earlier this week, Daily Star  (h/t Zero Hora) reported that Everton are close to sealing the signing of Soares.
Everton have been in touch with the Brazilian club over a move for the forward with Carlo Ancelotti eyeing a £30 million deal. Although Schira hasn’t disclosed the particulars of the deal, it seems both the clubs are close to reaching an agreement for the 23-year-old striker.
He has been one of the consistent performers for Gremio in the Brazilian top flight and impressed during the Copa America this summer.

'He wants to come': Phil Hay suggests agent 'working on' deal for £12m striker

'He wants to come': Phil Hay suggests agent 'working on' deal for £12m striker – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United fans have been given a massive boost by the ever-reliable Phil Hay of the Athletic.
The Whites have been linked with a move for Red Bull Leipzig striker Jean-Kevin Augustin as they are keen to land a striker this month.
Phil Hay has posted the latest update on the situation on his Twitter handle. He says that the player wants to come to Elland Road, while his agent is working to get him out of Monaco.

On Augustin, yet to hear if a deal’s been done but he wants to come and his agent has been working on getting him out of Monaco. Not getting games there. Mutual admiration between Bielsa and Augustin. @TheAthleticUK
— Phil Hay (@PhilHay_) January 25, 2020

After seeing three bids for Southampton striker Che Adams rejected, Leeds have turned their attention to the European market to land a striker.
Augustin is currently on a season-long loan at AS Monaco, where he is struggling to get regular games.

Marcelo Bielsa is an admirer of the player. Leeds won’t be able to submit a formal offer unless Monaco let him go. It seems the 22-year-old’s agent is working hard to get him out of the French club this month.
Augustin has started just two league games for Monaco since joining in the summer. He has scored just once in 13 games for Monaco but the young striker could be a superb addition for the Yorkshire club.
Leipzig paid £12 million when they signed him from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Augustin has scored 20 goals in 67 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
