'Gerrard out', 'Disgrace' – Some Rangers fans are furious after their Scottish Cup exit

'Gerrard out', 'Disgrace' – Some Rangers fans are furious after their Scottish Cup exit – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Hearts in the Scottish Cup quarterfinals earlier today.
The Ibrox outfit lacked imagination and attacking threat throughout the game and they were deservedly beaten by the hosts.
Steven Gerrard decided to leave Alfredo Morelos out of the squad due to disciplinary reasons and it seems that his decision has backfired.
Morelos would have given Rangers some much-needed sharpness in the attack.
The Scottish Cup was Rangers’ best chance of winning a trophy this season and the fans seem gutted with the result.
Rangers are far behind Celtic in the title race and winning the league seems like a pipe-dream at this stage for them.
With the Europa League left as their only chance of winning something, Rangers will now need a mini-miracle. There are several teams left in the competition that are better than Rangers and they will need some luck to win the competition.
It will be interesting to see how Rangers bounce back from this and perform in their next few games.
The fans and Gerrard will be demanding a strong reaction and the players will have to step up and deliver.
Here is what the fans tweeted after the game.

Just when you think we couldn’t get any worse!! The recruitment has been absolutely shocking from Gerrard! Aribo Ojo and the rest absolutely shocking! Gerrard can’t survive this surely….. He needs to do the right thing and step down and take that shower of shite he’s recruited
— Chrissy (@Rangers_n01) February 29, 2020

Gerrard out
— (@_72_rfc) February 29, 2020

Season over lads. Disgrace
— Callum (@xCDMM) February 29, 2020

Gerrard needs to go. We need to sit our emotions to the side, we all love and want him to succeed here but this collapse is monumental, he’s refused to change anything, it’s never going to change
— G (@garryhood1872) February 29, 2020

I won’t be back at ibrox until Gerrard is out the door
— Chrissy (@Rangers_n01) February 29, 2020

Gerrard out. Not even joking.
— Cammy_RFC (@W20CPW) February 29, 2020

Off you pop Gerrard.

'Most talented player we've seen since Gazza' – BT pundit heaps huge praise on Villa star

'Most talented player we've seen since Gazza' – BT pundit heaps huge praise on Villa star – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Jack Grealish is having a memorable season with Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Although Villa are battling to stay up, Grealish has been quite good individually. He has been their best player all season and he will be the key to their survival.
Popular pundit Joe Cole has now lavished huge praise on the attacking midfielder.
Speaking to BT Sport, the former England international revealed that Grealish is the most talented kid he has seen since Gascoigne.

Jack Grealish for England?
• “For me, this kid is the most talented player we’ve seen since Gazza.”
• “He will have to make that step to come to a top, top club.”
It’s safe to say Joe Cole is a BIG fan of the Villa captain… #EarlyKickOff pic.twitter.com/gmhq5LPtwI
— Football on BT Sport (@btsportfootball) February 29, 2020

Gazza is widely regarded as one of England’s finest players and therefore this is huge praise for Grealish.
The Aston Villa midfielder will be buzzing to hear these comments about him and he will be looking to build on his impressive season so far.
He will also be looking to force his way into Southgate’s Euro 2020 plans. Based on his showing this season, it would be surprising if he is not a part of the England squad for the Euros.
Grealish has shown that he has the ability to play at the highest level and the top teams might just come in for him at the end of this season.
The 24-year-old midfielder has nine goals and six assists his name this season.

'Worst player on the pitch' – Some Newcastle fans tear into 29-yr-old after today's draw

'Worst player on the pitch' – Some Newcastle fans tear into 29-yr-old after today's draw – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Newcastle were held to a 0-0 draw against Burnley in the Premier League today.
The Magpies failed to create too many chances and they looked toothless in front of the goal.
Steve Bruce’s men have been really mediocre in attack this season and the fans were expecting an improvement today. However, the players have failed to deliver once again.
Earlier in the week, Bruce suggested that Newcastle are working on a different formation for this game. But it seems that goals are still hard to come by.
The fans seemed disappointed with the performance in general but Danny Rose’s display was particularly infuriating.
The on-loan Tottenham defender lacked motivation throughout the game and the 29-year-old seemed disinterested.
Rose has lost his sharpness and he will have to work hard to win over the fans.
The former England international doesn’t seem match fit either and it will be interesting to see if he manages to keep his starting berth in the coming games.
On form, he is one of the best left-backs in the league and Newcastle would have expected more when they decided to sign him halfway through the season.
It will be interesting to see if he can turn it around now.
Here is what the fans had to say about Rose.

Danny Rose out there playing like he’s having a Sunday stroll through Leazes Park.
Doesn’t looked bothered to put any effort into this match. #nufc
— Toon Army Cleveland (@ToonArmyTheLand) February 29, 2020

Danny Rose does not want to play for #NUFC.
— Longstaff Is Skint (@LongstaffIsMint) February 29, 2020

Massively underwhelming Danny Rose. …..
— Ben Walker (@BenWalker1984) February 29, 2020

Danny Rose is looking a problem – worst player on the pitch. No interest in getting forward to provide an overlap and quite frankly not interested in putting any effort in at the back either. On current form he’s actually a downgrade from Dummett at LB! #NUFC
— Zach Leggett (@Zach_Leggett) February 29, 2020

Danny rose isn’t fit enough to walk to the shops nevermond play 90 minutes of premier league football week in and week out
— Ollie (@nufcoliverr) February 29, 2020

Aye we’re lucky we have pretty good defenders, and a quality keeper. Lets not mention danny rose though
— Lewis (@_lewisnufc_) February 29, 2020

Danny Rose is a fraud. Looked massively out of shape and made 1 decent pass all game. #NUFC
— Liam Robson (@robbo_07) February 29, 2020

That’s Danny Rose’s name officially crossed off his Euro’s squad list then.
— Zach Leggett (@Zach_Leggett) February 29, 2020

What did Hayden do that was decent. Totally anonymous. Only Danny Rose worse. Bruce will take us down. Probably this season, if not definitely next.

Chris Sutton gives his eight-word reaction to Rangers' Scottish Cup exit

Chris Sutton gives his eight-word reaction to Rangers' Scottish Cup exit – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Rangers crashed out of the Scottish Cup after a defeat to hearts earlier today in the Quarter-finals of the competition.
Bozanic scored the only goal of the game for the home side and Steven Gerrard will be thoroughly disappointed with his team’s performance. Morelos was left out of the squad for disciplinary reasons and Rangers were toothless in attack.
Rangers would have wanted to go further in the competition and win some silverware. The league title already seems beyond their reach. Europa league seems like the only chance of a trophy for Rangers this season but it will be very tough.
Popular pundit Chris Sutton has now reacted to Rangers’ defeat on his social media.
His tweet read:

Really unfortunate defeat for Rangers… well done Hearts
— Chris Sutton (@chris_sutton73) February 29, 2020

It will be interesting to see how Rangers bounce back from this now. The fans will be furious with the showing and Gerrard will have to ensure a memorable European run now.
Rangers strengthened their squad heavily at the start of this season and another trophy-less season would be disastrous for them.
The Ibrox outfit have the quality to win these games and they have shown that in the big games earlier this season. However, their inconsistency has cost them dearly this season.
In order to win trophies and challenge Celtic, they will have to be stronger mentally and be more consistent.

'It’s something that we hope will clear up soon' – Rodgers concerned about Leicester star

'It’s something that we hope will clear up soon' – Rodgers concerned about Leicester star – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Jamie Vardy missed Leicester City’s 1-0 defeat against Norwich this week after picking up a muscle injury.
It was his third muscle injury since the turn of the year and Brendan Rodgers has admitted that he is concerned.
Speaking to Leicester Mercury, the Foxes boss revealed that he has spoken to the medical team and the player about it and he hopes that Vardy’s issues will be resolved soon.
Rodgers believes that the player could return to action against Birmingham. If not, he will definitely play a part against Aston Villa.
He said: “It is a concern, we’ve spoken around that with him and the medical team. He’s not out for long, it’s a low-grade strain on the same calf, so he’ll be back in, if it’s not for Birmingham [in the FA Cup on Wednesday], he’ll definitely be fine for the game against Aston Villa [on Monday, March 9]. But it’s something that we hope will clear up soon.”
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks. Jamie Vardy has been in tremendous form for Leicester this season and his absence is a massive blow for the team.
The 33-year-old striker has scored 17 goals in 25 league games so far this season and he could make a big difference for Leicester between now and the end of the season.
The Foxes will be hoping to secure European football for the next season and they will need their top players firing all cylinders in the upcoming games.
Leicester are going through a rough patch right now and it will be interesting to see if they can turn it around soon.

28y/o with €800m buyout clause to start; £36m man to return? – Predicting Barca's Clasico XI

28y/o with €800m buyout clause to start; £36m man to return? – Predicting Barca's Clasico XI – originally posted on Sportslens.com
The result of Sunday’s El Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu will have a huge say on the 2019-20 La Liga title race, and more than just bragging rights is at stake.
League leaders Barca are currently two points ahead of Madrid at the top of the table, and with both sides tied on 72 El Clasico victories each ahead of the 277th meeting between them, a feisty encounter should be expected.
Quique Setien’s side will go five points clear with victory at the capital, but the Barcelona boss has too many injury concerns and a very thin squad to pick his team from.
While he sustained a knock during Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Napoli and had to be withdrawn, Gerard Pique is fit to face Madrid, and while Samuel Umtiti didn’t put a foot wrong against the Italians, Clement Lenglet could be preferred ahead of him given his aerial prowess at both ends.

Jordi Alba trained with the team this morning and is in the official squad, but tomorrow’s game could be too early for him, and Junior Firpo will most likely retain his spot at left-back while Nelson Semedo retains his berth at right-back with Sergi Roberto still out.
The El Clasico battle could be won or lost in the middle of the park, and how Barcelona lineup in midfield will have a huge say on their chances of leaving Madrid with all three points.
Arthur Melo, who cost Barcelona £36 million, could return to the starting lineup in place of Ivan Rakitic given that the Catalans could do with his creativity, with the trio of Sergio Busquets, Arturo Vidal and Frenkie De Jong joining him.
The Chilean midfielder could join Antoine Griezmann, who has a release clause of €800 million, and Lionel Messi in attack every now and then like he did against Napoli, and it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can get the better of their eternal rivals.
Predicted Barcelona XI
4-4-2
Ter Stegen;
Semedo, Pique, Lenglet, Junior;
Busquets, Arturo Vidal, Arthur, De Jong;
Griezmann, Messi

'Player of the season': Adam Pope's tweet has got many Leeds fans talking

'Player of the season': Adam Pope's tweet has got many Leeds fans talking – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United secured their fourth win in a row after beating Hull City 4-0 in the Championship on Saturday at KCOM Stadium.
Luke Ayling gave Leeds an early lead after his 20-yard strike took a huge deflection off Callum Elder to spun into the net. Pablo Hernandez doubled the lead at the start of the second half with a cool finish.
Tyler Roberts, who replaced Patrick Bamford, marked his return to the side from an injury with a finely taken brace. With that, Leeds have recorded their first league double over Hull City since the 1989-90 season, when they won promotion from the second tier.

BBC journalist Adam Pope took to social networking site Twitter to express his reaction after the match. He has hailed Stuart Dallas as ‘outstanding’, and adjudged the 28-year-old as the ‘man of the match’.
The versatile Dallas has been simply outstanding this season, and is arguably one of the most consistent performers in the side.
Many Leeds fans have pointed out that Dallas could be a contender for player of the season. However, it seems, many fans have still in awe of the performance of Jack Harrison today. Here are some of the selected tweets:

'Bargain of the century': Many Leeds fans swoon over 'outstanding' player vs Hull City – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United secured their fourth win on the trot after beating Hull City 4-0 on Saturday at the KCOM Stadium.
Marcelo Bielsa handed the first league start to 19-year-old Illan Meslier following Kiko Casilla’s eight-game ban starting from today. Leeds kept a clean sheet for the fourth game in a row, and produced a scintillating attacking display with several players being superb on the pitch.

Goals from Luke Ayling, Pablo Hernandez and a brace from Tyler Roberts earned all three points for the visitors.
Both the Leeds wingers were superb during the game, with Jack Harrison playing out of his skin, earning huge plaudits from the Whites fans. Here are some of the selected tweets:

— Michael (@Mickledonions) February 29, 2020

The 23-year-old, who joined Leeds during the summer transfer window on loan from Manchester City, was outstanding during the game, and nearly scored an absolute beauty but the woodwork came to Hull’s rescue.
Leeds can sign him for just £8 million permanently from Manchester City, and based on his performance this season, it will be a bargain signing from the Whites.
The Whites could find themselves eight-points ahead of third-placed Fulham who will face Preston North End later today.
Leeds enjoyed 67% of possession, and took 17 shots of which they managed to keep eight on target, according to BBC Sport.

'Rodgers is wasting him' – Some Leicester fans react to 23-yr-old's worrying stats

'Rodgers is wasting him' – Some Leicester fans react to 23-yr-old's worrying stats – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leicester City star James Maddison is going through a rough patch right now and the fans are worried.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has failed to register a single goal or assist in his last nine games in all competitions.
Leicester’s City’s form has fallen off a cliff as well. The Foxes have not won eight of their last ten games in all competitions. At one stage, they were firmly in the title race.
It will be interesting to see if Rodgers manages to turn around his team’s form in the coming weeks. In order for that to happen, he will need his top players in good form.
Maddison will know that he has underperformed recently and he will have to improve a lot.
He is still very young and his inconsistency is hardly a surprise. The midfielder will have to work harder and chip in with goals and assists if Leicester are to secure Champions League football for next season.
Jamie Vardy’s form has dipped as well and Leicester will be hoping for a change in the coming weeks.
Here is what some of the Leicester City fans tweeted about Maddison’s drought earlier.

Rodgers is wasting him not playing as a 10. First tried playing him as a winger and now wastes him so deep. How he gets away with it…
— bluefox_lcfc (@BlueFox_LCFC) February 28, 2020

No. He’s been very good he’s jsut playing like a cdm these days

— Guy (@guycolwell) February 29, 2020

Leicester favourites to sign 23-yr-old midfielder who is a good friend of Tielemans

Leicester favourites to sign 23-yr-old midfielder who is a good friend of Tielemans – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leicester City are expected to complete the signing of Nice midfielder Arnaud Lusamba.
According to Daily Mail, the 23-year-old will be a free agent at the end of this season and he is thought to be keen on a move to the King Power Stadium.
The report claims that Lusamba is good friends with Youri Tielemans and he wants to play European football alongside the Belgian at Leicester City.
His relationship with the Leicester midfielder is key to the deal.
Daily Mail are reporting that Leicester are currently closing in on his signing. It will be interesting to see if they can get the deal over the line this summer.
Lusamba has done well with Nice and he could prove to be a good option for Brendan Rodgers next season.
The talented attacking midfielder can play as a number ten as well as a forward. His versatility will be a key asset for Leicester if they do sign him.
The Frenchman has picked up one goal and two assists in 13 league games so far.
Lusamba is blessed with impressive vision in the final third and he will certainly improve Leicester’s creativity.
He could be the ideal alternative for the likes of Perez and Maddison if needed. If Leicester qualify for Champions League football, they will need a bigger squad and signings like Lusamba would be ideal.
