Tottenham left-back Ryan Sessegnon has opened up on his time at the club so far.
The former Fulham youngster (signed for a fee of £25m) has revealed that it has been the most difficult time of his career and he is working hard to improve.
Sessegnon believes that Mourinho is a very tactical manager and he is trying to adjust his game to suit the Portuguese’ style. He also revealed that Jose Mourinho wants him to be more aggressive and that is what he is trying to do now.
He said (via Evening Standard): “To play under a coach like Mourinho is very tactical. He doesn’t like to concede goals, so I’m trying to adjust my game in a defensive way as well. He wants me to be aggressive, so that’s what I’m trying to do. You have to work on it. Over the years I’ve worked on trying to better myself, working hard in training, analysing my game and stuff like that. It comes with the experience of games and stuff.”
It will be interesting to see if he can hold down a regular starting berth at Spurs in the coming weeks.
He is very highly rated across England and he is tipped to have a big future. Sessegnon can play as a left-back and a left-sided winger.
However, the youngster will have to improve the defensive side of his game if he wants to start more often as the left-back.
The 19-year-old believes that he will improve his game with time and experience. He also believes that he is working hard on the training pitch.
If Sessegnon manages to adapt to Mourinho’s methods, it could be a massive boost for Spurs. He will add a new dimension to their attack from the full-back position.
Davies is not as good going forward but he is a better defender than Sessegnon. Once Sessegnon improves the defensive side of his game, Spurs will have a quality young full-back at their disposal.

'Looking like a real player' – Former England boss drools over Aston Villa star

'Looking like a real player' – Former England boss drools over Aston Villa star – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has had an impressive season so far.
He has dealt with the step up to the Premier League really well and Sam Allardyce believes that he could play for elite European clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“Jack is the key element in everything Villa seem to do,” Big Sam said on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“He’s scored more goals and got more assists this season, he’s looking like a real player and he’s handled the Premier League like he should have always been there.
“I think that’s going to create a massive interest across the European clubs because of the quality of play he shows on the ball, the calmness, the final pass and now the finish as well.
“It wouldn’t be beyond a clubs like Barcelona or Real Madrid to look at him, the only is question is could he handle it at a club of that size?
“And I would like to think he could, based on how he has stepped up in the Premier League for Villa.”
Grealish has been Aston Villa’s best player this season and he will be crucial to their survival hopes.
If he can perform like the way he has done so far, Villa might stay in the Premier League next year.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and it will be interesting to see if Villa can hold on to him beyond this season.
Grealish is a top quality player who deserves to play for a better team. If he keeps playing at this level, top teams will come in for him sooner rather than later.
He might just decide to make the step up eventually.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer. Along with James Maddison and Jadon Sancho, Grealish is certainly one of England’s most exciting midfield prospects right now.

Report: Mourinho keen on signing 22-yr-old if Spurs qualify for the CL

Report: Mourinho keen on signing 22-yr-old if Spurs qualify for the CL – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham are thought to be keen on the Roma winger Cengiz Under at the end of this season.
According to a report from Turkish newspaper Gunes (translated by Daily Mail), Mourinho wants to sign the player if Spurs manage to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
Under is highly rated around Europe and he could prove to be a superb signing for Spurs. They have recently signed a quality young winger in Bergwijn.
The Dutchman plays on the left and Under is naturally a right sided player. Signing him will add more pace, flair and balance to Tottenham’s attack.
The likes of Son and Kane are much more effective in the central areas.
Spurs are currently 5th in the Premier League table and a top four finish is not beyond them. If they can put together a winning run after the winter break, they should be able to catch up with Chelsea.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs can agree on a deal with the Italians for the 22-year-old. He is a key player for Roma and they will demand a premium for his services.
Under has the tools to succeed in English football and he might be tempted to work with a world class manager like Mourinho if the opportunity presents itself.
Spurs have the means to tempt Roma into selling and Levy is likely to back Mourinho in his first summer window.

Journalist claims NUFC closely following in-demand 24 y/o int'l in red-hot form

Journalist claims NUFC closely following in-demand 24 y/o int'l in red-hot form – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to French journalist, Manu Lonjon, Newcastle United have been ‘monitoring’ the progress of Moses Simon.
The 24-year-old forward joined the French side last summer on a season-long loan deal from Levante. He has impressed in the French league, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

The Nigerian international has expressed his desire to stay at Nantes beyond the end of the season.
Lonjon has claimed on Twitter that Hertha Berlin and Lyon are also interested in signing him.

Belle bascule.
— Manu (@ManuLonjon) February 7, 2020

Nantes are expected to activate a clause to make the deal permanent but Newcastle are also in the hunt to sign him. The Magpies are among a host of clubs to have been watching Simon’s displays closely and it remains to be seen whether they make a move for him in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle will be looking to sign a striker in the summer with big-money signing Joelinton failing to make a big impact at Saint James’ Park. At £5 million, Moses would be a good signing for the Magpies.

'Lost for words for once': Some fans react to Bielsa's comment on Leeds player

'Lost for words for once': Some fans react to Bielsa's comment on Leeds player – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa seems to have angered some fans with his latest comments on Jean Kevin Augustin and Patrick Bamford.
Ahead of Leeds’ Championship clash against Nottingham Forest, Bielsa shared his thoughts on both the players.
The Whites signed Augustin in the January transfer window on loan from RB Leipzig but he is yet to play for the Yorkshire club.
Bielsa has praised him heavily, but has also insisted that Augustin is not yet ready to start for Leeds.

The Argentine has defended Patrick Bamford who has come under intense criticism from the fans following his poor performance against Wigan in the previous match.
Bamford has scored 12 times for Leeds but he has wasted a lot of chances as well. In fact, he frustrates more than he appeases.
The former Chelsea striker is an important player for Bielsa but he is gradually losing the support of the Leeds fans.
Many Leeds fans feel that Bielsa is just using Augustin’s fitness as an excuse to stick with Bamford. Here are some of the selected tweets:

That statement is quite staggering. Lost for words for once.
— Mike Whorley (@mikewhorley) February 6, 2020

Sounds like the season will be over by the time he 'gets up to speed'.
— Chris (@Chris_CD2010) February 6, 2020

Bielsa and his stubbornness will cost Leeds again.
— Dazza (@DazScott1) February 6, 2020

Bielsa will cost us promotion because he's a stubborn git who never rotates his squad or tries anything new. We've been flogging a dead horse since Christmas.
— Maxwello (@maxwellobielsa) February 6, 2020

12 times with worst conversion rate in league. You’d think Bielsa would know that. 2 pens and 8 tap ins
— LufcSS (@LufcAlaw) February 6, 2020

And any decent striker who can actually finish would probably be on 25 goals
— Bobby (@LUFCBobby) February 6, 2020

I swear Bamford must have Bielsa's wife locked away in a basement.
How else does a world class coach rate such a donkey so much?
— Hendo (@HendoLJ) February 6, 2020

He should have scored 20+ with the amount of chances he’s missed tho, that’s his game scoring goals!!!
— Dylan Turner (@dylanturner58) February 6, 2020

So he can't do a 20 minute cameo? What a joke.

Report: Spurs 'placed to make offer' to sign £25m int'l who is 'set to leave' the club

Report: Spurs 'placed to make offer' to sign £25m int'l who is 'set to leave' the club – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Liverpool winger Adam Lallana is ‘set to leave’ Anfield at the end of the season as his contract will expire.
The 31-year-old, who joined the Reds from Southampton in 2014 for a reported fee of £25m, is on his final few months of his £150k-per-week contract at Liverpool.
He has made 13 Premier League appearances this season for the Reds, and will be allowed to be leave the club.
Several clubs including Leicester City, Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur are ‘monitoring’ his situation, with the two north London clubs are placed to make offers to the player’s representatives.

The England international has expressed his desire to play more regular first-team football, and was linked with a move to Newcastle United during the January transfer window.
Spurs are looking to sign an attacking midfielder in the summer following the departure of Christian Eriksen who joined Inter Milan in January.
Lallana is a versatile player who has loads of Premier League experience. But Spurs should look to avoid signing him even if he is available on free. There are better options elsewhere.
The former Saints midfielder has struggled with injuries in recent years, and he might struggle to get regular games at Spurs.

Gerrard raves about 'robust' Rangers player who has really impressed him in training

Gerrard raves about 'robust' Rangers player who has really impressed him in training – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Glasgow Rangers defender Connor Goldson has been in terrific form for the Ibrox club this season.
The Gers will face Hamilton in the Scottish FA Cup on Saturday. Ahead of the match, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has showered praise on Goldon.
Gerrard says that the 27-year-old has been ‘extremely consistent’ for the Gers. The former Brighton defender ‘hasn’t missed a training session’, and he is someone who has the complete trust of his manager.
The Gers boss says that he is delighted with Goldson’s form, and expects him to continue the form for the rest of the season.

SG: I think Connor (Goldson) has been extremely consistent, he hasn't missed a training session is very robust and you can always trust him. Delighted with his form and hope it continues throughout the season.
— Rangers Football Club (@RangersFC) February 7, 2020

Rangers returned to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership after beating Hibernian in their previous match.
The Ibrox outfit still find themselves seven points behind Celtic, although they have played a game less.

Rangers lost to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final this season, and they should be looking to do well in another cup competition.
Goldon, along with Borna Barisic, has been key for Rangers this season, and they have a massive role to play if the Gers are to challenge Celtic in the league, and progress further in the Europa League.

'Make me sick': Many Leeds fans find 'hard to believe' what Bielsa has just said

'Make me sick': Many Leeds fans find 'hard to believe' what Bielsa has just said – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Leeds suffered a big blow in the race for automatic promotion when they lost 1-0 against Wigan Athletic at Elland Road last week.
The Whites have managed just one win in their last six games in all competitions. More than the result, it was the manner of the defeat that left many fans frustrated.
Leeds, once again, created loads of opportunities, but failed to take their chances. It is a common trend Leeds have picked up under Marcelo Bielsa, and probably this time it has gone way too far.
The Whites will travel to City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds fans adore Bielsa, but he is not above criticism. Many fans have criticised him for being stubborn, especially with his team selection.
Ahead of the match, Bielsa said in his press conference that his team needs the confidence of the fans, adding people on the outside of the club are losing faith in the team.
Leeds fans are known to be very passionate about their club, players, and manager. However, the latest comment from Bielsa didn’t go well with many fans. Here are some of the selected tweets:

It’s hard to believe when we follow the same pattern every year and don’t address it. We’d be much better if Roofe/Jansson we’re still here in my opinion.
— Le Shift (@BatesyV3) February 6, 2020

Make me sick that he feels this way. Greatest Manager Leeds have had for a long time. Some fans have no clue.
— Kishan Patel (@05patelk) February 6, 2020

Twitter bell ends getting to him and the players, ridiculous, been a ST holder for over 20 years, do we reallyvwmatvto go back to 17k attendances and shite Warnock type managers and journeymen players? That's what will happen long term 100% if we hound out managers and owners
— Ed (@NuttallEdward) February 6, 2020

Some people are realistic & make fair comments. These people are classed as 'losing faith'. Some people see everything through Leeds tinted glasses, ignore logic, over hype everything. Those are seen as 'keeping faith'… Frustrating that realistic fans aren't allowed an opinion
— Greg Smith (@GregSmith88) February 6, 2020

I don’t think that’s surprising given our abysmal form and particularly after last season’s implosion!
— WeAllLoveLeeds (@AllLoveLeeds) February 6, 2020

Leeds are second in the Championship with just one point behind West Brom, but Fulham and Forest have done well to close the gap with the Whites to three and four points respectively.

In the build-up to Tottenham’s final goal, Dele Alli, who came on as a substitute, produced a moment of brilliance by placing a delicious pass in the path of Son, who was fouled by Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn.
Tottenham have uploaded the goal on their official Twitter page which has left many fans drooling over Alli’s brilliance in the build-up to the goal. Here are some of the selected tweets:

Tottenham Hotspur will face Norwich City in the next round of the FA Cup.
It took a two-legged replay and a thrilling contest for Spurs to edge out Southampton in the fourth round of the FA Cup competition.
Spurs will now face the Canaries at home. The match will take place on Wednesday, 4th March. The Kick-off has been confirmed to be at 7.45pm.
Many Spurs fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their disappointment after the north London have confirmed the news.

FA Cup is England’s oldest tournament and is still one of the prestigious competitions in the country. Many fans have pointed out that by shifting the game to Wednesday, and not on weekends, they are showing disrespect to the competition.
Also, some fans have commented on the timing of the competition. There are others who feel that the prices should be dropped for the cup games. Here are some of the selected tweets:

Wednesday?? Really. Some of us work midweek evenings.
— Gordon Clapham (@ClaphamGordon) February 6, 2020

Over 65 should be £15 and young adults should be £15 too imo
— XT00G (@XT000G01) February 6, 2020

Not sure my heart can take watching another match like that one. They should drop the prices to £20 for mid week cup games.

And both sets of fans get done dry once again ffs
— Bill Parry (@BillParry14) February 6, 2020

Prices held and quite rightly as Norwich are currently a Premier League Team. Let’s see who comes out of the draw for the 1/4 finals “should” we get through. Newcastle anyone?
