According to The Sun, the recovery of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is going better than expected, and he could be back in action in six weeks’ time.
The England international ruptured a tendon in his left hamstring during his side’s 1-0 loss at Southampton on New Year’s Day, and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho feared he could be out of the season.
Kane’s participation at Euro 2020 was also in doubt, but both Tottenham and England could be handed a major injury boost in the coming weeks.

Bayern dealt huge injury blow ahead of UCL last-16 second-leg against Chelsea

Bayern Munich have been dealt a huge injury blow ahead of the second-leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Chelsea on March 18.

Breaking News: @FCBayern will miss @lewy_official for four weeks. The striker is injured at his knee
— Christian Falk (@cfbayern) February 26, 2020

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is out of action for four weeks after sustaining a knee injury during last night’s clash at Stamford Bridge.

The hitman bagged his side’s third and assisted the first and second goals in the 3-0 win over Chelsea, with Serge Gnabry scoring twice.
While Frank Lampard’s men have a huge task on their hands as they look to overturn such a huge margin at Allianz Arena in three weeks’ time, Lewandowski’s injury gives them a slim chance given how influential the Poland international is to Bayern’s attack.
The 31-year-old has 25 goals in 23 Bundesliga games to his name and 11 goals in six Champions League appearances this term, so it’s safe to say Bayern’s attack will be less-potent in his absence, and that could give Chelsea a little advantage.

Aubameyang slams UK newspaper with brilliant tweet following latest contract reports

Aubameyang slams UK newspaper with brilliant tweet following latest contract reports – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to Mirror Football, qualifying for the Champions League next season could ultimately hold the key in Arsenal’s attempts to convince striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign a new deal.
The Gabonese international has a little more than a year left on his current contract at The Emirates Stadium, and did put contract talks on hold last autumn because he was frustrated with the club and is desperate to play in the Champions League – a competition Arsenal have missed out on in the last three seasons.

The Gunners could be forced to sell Aubameyang in the summer if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new deal in order not to lose him for free in 2021, and he definitely won’t be short of suitors.
Barcelona and Inter Milan have both been linked with the 30-year-old striker, but it doesn’t appear he wants to leave Arsenal soon and he has slammed Mirror Football on Twitter, reacting thus to their reports:

Why they Talk about what they don’t Know
— Aubameyang P-E (@Aubameyang7) February 26, 2020

Aubameyang has established himself as a key player for Arsenal since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, scoring 60 goals and assisting 13 others in 95 games for the London giants.
The Arsenal captain has scored 19 goals in 30 games across all competitions this season, with 17 of them coming in the Premier League.
He currently tops the goalscoring charts alongside Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and he will be looking to land the golden boot again after winning it last term.

Report: Spurs striker angry UEFA rule might prevent him from going to Euro 2020

Report: Spurs striker angry UEFA rule might prevent him from going to Euro 2020 – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott risks missing out on the Republic of Ireland’s Euro 2020 squad due to his limited playing chances at the North London club.
The 18-year-old made his international debut for Mick McCarthy’s side last November, grabbing an assist in Ireland’s 3-1 friendly win over New Zealand, but he has played just five minutes of senior team football for Tottenham since.
Parrott was excluded from Spurs’ last three matchday squads as he is yet to convince boss Jose Mourinho that he has what it takes to play for his side.
With Harry Kane and Son Heung-min out injured, the teenage striker was expected to see increased playing opportunities, but that hasn’t been the case.

According to The Athletic, Parrott was close to joining Championship side Charlton Athletic in January on loan until the end of the season, but a UEFA rule blocked his chances, as he would not have been eligible as a homegrown player for Tottenham in European competition if he had completed the move.
The youngster joined Spurs on the 4th of February 2018, and with players required to complete two consecutive years at a club to be counted as homegrown, the striker had to stay till the 4th of this month – after the transfer window closed – to qualify as he would have been classed as a foreign player if he left on loan.
Ireland’s boss McCarthy said afterwards: “I wish he’d gone to Charlton and played games on loan. He couldn’t go out before because of his age and I understand that, but if he’s not playing competitive football he has very little chance of being in the squad.”
Parrott is said to have been left frustrated at the situation as it has dealt a massive blow on his Euro 2020 ambitions, and with Spurs likely to be competing for a top-four finish till matchday 38, his chances of forcing his way into Mourinho’s plans look slim going forward.

Sky Sports pundit predicts the result of the Celtic vs Copenhagen game

Sky Sports pundit predicts the result of the Celtic vs Copenhagen game – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Celtic take on Copenhagen in the second leg of their Europa League clash and they will be looking to secure their passage to the next round of the competition with a win.
The Scottish champions drew the first leg 1-1 away from home and they will be confident heading into this game.
Celtic are in great form right now and they will fancy their chances in front of their own fans.
Popular pundit Charlie Nicholas has made a prediction about the game on Sky Sports. He believes that Neil Lennon’s side will make it to the last 16 and they will win the game 2-0.
He added the Copenhagen’s squad is filled with mediocrity apart from 2-3 players.
It will be interesting to see how Celtic perform against Copenhagen. They have the quality to win this one comfortably and the fans will be expecting a good show here.
Celtic are in the driver’s seat as far as the title race is concerned and they will be looking to focus on their European campaign now.
A win here would give them a major morale boost ahead of the next round and Neil Lennon’s men will be hoping to go all the way this year.

Report: There're questions over mentality of Spurs man Jose thinks lacks emotional control

Report: There're questions over mentality of Spurs man Jose thinks lacks emotional control – originally posted on Sportslens.com
According to The Athletic, there have been questions over the mentality and application of Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott recently, with some club insiders registering surprise at his apparent immaturity.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho appeared to suggest last week that the teenager lacks emotional control, and he does not think he is ready for regular first-team football.
Parrott was expected to see more playing minutes following long-term injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, but he hasn’t even made Tottenham’s last three matchday squads, and in Mourinho’s eyes, thrusting him into his side at such a young age and with so little experience is not a gamble worth taking.
The 18-year-old has only featured twice for Tottenham this term – during the League Cup game against Colchester in September and in a Premier League clash with Burnley last December where he came on in the 85th minute.

Parrott has a lot of work to do in training if he is to successfully convince Mourinho that he deserves a chance, and most importantly, he will have to grab it with both hands if he is presented with one.

Serge Gnabry pays tribute to Arsenal as he mocks Chelsea following UCL heroics

Serge Gnabry pays tribute to Arsenal as he mocks Chelsea following UCL heroics – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Chelsea were put to the sword by Bayern Munich in the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at Stamford Bridge last night, with three second-half goals condemning the hosts to their biggest ever home defeat in Europe.
Serge Gnabry grabbed a brace before Robert Lewandowski sealed the victory for the Bundesliga leaders.
The former Arsenal winger has scored six goals in the Champions League this term, and all have come away against London teams.
Gnabry scored four times when Bayern demolished Tottenham Hotspur 7-2 during the group stages last October, and the ex-Gunners mocked his former side’s North London rivals, tweeting thus back then on Twitter:

North London is RED!!! pic.twitter.com/1Te5YjqpWo
— Serge Gnabry (@SergeGnabry) October 1, 2019

The Germany international has once again paid tributes to Arsenal after downing Chelsea, and he didn’t hesitate to mock the Blues on Twitter following last night’s heroics:

London still red.. #FCB pic.twitter.com/3108THrtzv
— Serge Gnabry (@SergeGnabry) February 25, 2020

Gnabry left Arsenal for Bayern Munich in 2017 and has been in red-hot form this term, bagging 10 goals and eight assists in 21 Bundesliga games.

The 24-year-old will hope to impress again when Chelsea visit the Allianz Arena for the second-leg on March 18, and it will be interesting to see if Frank Lampard’s men can contain him and co. in Germany.

'Looks a bargain', 'Quality player' – Some Villa fans are impressed with their January signing

'Looks a bargain', 'Quality player' – Some Villa fans are impressed with their January signing – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Aston Villa signed Mbwana Samatta from Genk in January.
The 27-year-old striker has managed to impress the fans with his performances so far.
The Tanzanian has played just three Premier League games so far but he was outstanding against Bournemouth and Spurs.
Some of the Aston Villa fans seem pleased with the start their new signing has made and they have taken to Twitter to share their reactions.
Samatta will be hoping to build on his solid start to life in the Premier League. With Wesley out for the season, he will get many more chances to showcase his talent.
The 27-year-old has hit the ground running and Dean Smith will be delighted with that. Aston Villa are in desperate need of goals right now.
They are fighting for their survival and they could use players like Samatta.
Jack Grealish has been carrying the side for a while now and the midfielder will need some help. Players like Samatta could share the burden with him.
The striker will be delighted with the fans’ opinion of him so far and he will be looking to impress them further in the coming weeks.
Here is what the Villa fans had to say earlier.

Needs to add goals. His all round play is effective but he needs to kick on and score.
— Chris Stanley (@chrisstanley1) February 25, 2020

Looks good. What we needed. A shame for him and the Tanzanian fans he brought with him (and for us) that he has seen 3 PL losses in a row
— Chris (@ChrisPe51882185) February 25, 2020

Looks a bargain, settled in quickly and played well every game so far. Definitely a threat we just need to get him the service
— Bailey Edwards (@BaileyE1997) February 25, 2020

Very good player. It’s such a shame we have an awful defence and midfield barring Grealish /McGinn. This guy would score for fun with the right service
— $KILL$ PAY BILLZ AVFC (@skillspaybillz) February 25, 2020

Looks a decent asset, as I still believe Wesley is. However no service = no goals.
— Jon Bagshaw (@faonamission) February 25, 2020

Looks like a good player but I also think wesley is good to as well as Hogan; the issue we have is the service given to them plus the formation, unfortunately we need 2 up front so the current system won’t work for any of our strikers! #AVFC
— Danny #avfc (@AvfcFitbit) February 25, 2020

Looking like a quality player.

'This spells trouble': Popular pundit makes a prediction about Rangers' Europa clash

'This spells trouble': Popular pundit makes a prediction about Rangers' Europa clash – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Popular pundit Charlie Nicholas has predicted Rangers to lose against Braga in the Europa League this week.
The Ibrox giant pulled off a stunning comeback win over the Portuguese outfit in the first leg but Nicholas reckons that the home side will have too much for Rangers this time around.
He said to Sky Sports: “Gerrard has introduced the fighting spirit to this Rangers team. They have a really good away record in the Europa League, but I fear Braga are too good for them. It has been amazing for them to get here but I think they will go out on away goals. You cannot trust the defence at the minute, while Alfredo Morelos is suspended, so this spells trouble.”
It will be interesting to see how Rangers approach this contest. They were very poor at the back in the first leg and they cannot afford to make the same mistakes twice.
Ianis Hagi bailed them out with a match-winning performance at Ibrox last time out. Braga will be careful of the Romanian this time.
It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
Rangers managed to beat Braga at Ibrox but the away side scored twice. They have shown that they have what it takes to win the second leg.
With Alfredo Morelos suspended, the game will be tougher for Rangers. Steven Gerrard will need his defence to bail his side out this time.
The likes of Katic have been poor at the back in the recent weeks and they will have to step it up and deliver this week.

Charlie Nicholas reveals the only way Rangers can stop Celtic's 10-in-a-row

Charlie Nicholas reveals the only way Rangers can stop Celtic's 10-in-a-row – originally posted on Sportslens.com
Popular pundit Charlie Nicholas believes that the only way Rangers can stop Celtic from winning the title next season is by selling Alfredo Morelos.
Celtic are firm favourites to win the title this year and they could make it ten in a row next season.
Nicholas claims that Steven Gerrard will have to strengthen his squad considerably at the end of this season and Morelos’ sale would help in that regard.
He said (cited by Daily Record): “This season’s title race is over – and Celtic will go on to secure the Holy Grail of 10-in-a-row unless Rangers sell Alfredo Morelos. If Rangers are serious about stopping their rivals next season, then their summer transfer dealings will be key. Steven Gerrard is not going anywhere. He will still be in the Ibrox dugout next season and will be ready to take up the fight again. But he has a big job on his hands and the Light Blues must cash in on Morelos and use the money to strengthen their team. It will be difficult for the club to find a better all-round striker than Morelos unless they are prepared to cough up £10m or £12m but they can get someone who will score just as many goals, but without the disciplinary baggage.”
The Colombian was linked with a move away from Rangers earlier this season as well and it will be interesting to see what happens in the summer.
He is the best player at Rangers when on form and the Ibrox outfit have been heavily reliant on him for goals for a while now.
His departure will certainly weaken Rangers’ attack a lot but Nicholas has made a valid point.
If Rangers invest the proceeds from Morelos’ sale properly, they could have a stronger squad collectively.
The striker’s departure could easily fund the arrival of a top-class centre back and a top-class central midfielder.
Also, it could help Rangers complete a permanent deal for Ianis Hagi in the summer. The Romanian has been outstanding on loan so far and he is destined to develop into a star.
