Report: Wolves in the hunt to sign £13.5m ace who Nuno rates 'very highly'

Report: Wolves in the hunt to sign £13.5m ace who Nuno rates 'very highly' – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers are in the hunt to sign Sporting Braga striker Francisco Trincao.
The report claims that Serie A champions Juventus are also interested in signing the exciting young striker who is valued at £13.5m.
However, Wolves are expected to beat both Juventus and Inter Milan in the race as they believe their close relationship with Jorge Mendes can sway things in their favour.
The newspaper adds that Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo “rates the striker very highly”, and the Premier League newcomers are confident that a deal could be done.
The 19-year-old is a highly rated talent, but Wolves surely see him as a player for the future. He has made only two appearances for Braga, and therefore he would require time to make a serious impact for Wolves.
The important thing is Nuno is a big admirer of the player, and surely he has plans how to use the youngster.
Wolves are also in advanced talks to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Report: Everton in the hunt to sign 17-cap int'l, he could be willing to move

Report: Everton in the hunt to sign 17-cap int'l, he could be willing to move – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from AS Argentina, Everton are looking to make a move for Wilmar Barrios this week.
The Toffees fans will be encouraged by the news that Barrios could be willing to make the switch to Goodison Park in January.
The 25-year-old has been a long term target of Everton. The Toffees made contact with Boca Juniors last year, and they could make a move for him again.
Barrios wanted to stick with Boca at that time, as they were set to play in the Copa Libertadores final, but now, he could be more open to moving on.
The highly rated Colombian has 17 caps for his country, and would be a good addition to the squad. He could add steel to Marco Silva’s midfield, but signing a defensive midfielder is certainly not Silva’s top priority at the moment.
Barrios has a release clause in his contract, and therefore, could be available at a decent price.
Everton have had a bumpy ride in the 2018-19 Premier League season so far, and Marco Silva will want more consistency from his side in the second half of the campaign.

Report: Wolves in advanced talks to sign Jan target in scintillating form, player not training today – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Dean Smith would love to keep Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham at Villa Park for the rest of the season, but it seems that he is on his way out.
The exciting striker has been in scintillating form this season, scoring 16 goals in just 20 Championship starts.
According to reports from Sky Sports (transfer live blog), Abraham was not with the rest of the Aston Villa squad for training today. The news will come as a boost for Wolves who are growing confident of signing him on loan till the end of the season.
Wolves are currently in advanced talks with Chelsea over a deal.
The Sun reported that the Premier League club are willing to offer him a £120,000-a-week contract while offering a transfer fee of £18 million.
The Evening Standard earlier provided an update on the situation, reporting that Wolves are confident of signing him at some point this week.
Abraham is in red hot form at the moment, and if he continues to bang in goals for Wolves, the Premier League newcomers can expect to climb further up the table.

Mark Allen names the 'remarkable' Rangers player who could leave Ibrox at some point

Mark Allen names the 'remarkable' Rangers player who could leave Ibrox at some point – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Glasgow Rangers Director of Football Mark Allen has insisted that star striker Alfredo Morelos could leave the Ibrox club at some point in the future.
However, he has vowed that Rangers will do everything to keep hold of the 22-year-old as long as possible.
The Colombian forward joined the Gers in 2017 from HJK, and scored 18 goals in his debut season. This season, he has taken his game to a new height, managing 20 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.
Morelos is loved by the Rangers fans, but his aggressive nature has come under criticism from time to time.
There have been a lot of interest in him from clubs abroad, but Rangers have done well to reject all advances so far. Allen has hailed him as a ‘remarkable’ character, and says that the Gers will do everything to hold on to him for long.
“He’s got a remarkable character because of the amount of stick he gets,” Allen said. “He puts it behind him and just gets on with it,” said Allan to the Daily Record.
“Ultimately, Alfredo will want to play at a different level. Our job is to hold to him for as long as we possibly can.”
Morelos is a fantastic player, and he is at a great club at the moment. However, if he continues to perform like this, big clubs from across the Europe will try to sign him, and Rangers will be powerless to prevent him from leaving if they receive a good sum.

Opinion: Silva would make a colossal gamble if Everton land 24 y/o int'l in January

Opinion: Silva would make a colossal gamble if Everton land 24 y/o int'l in January – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window.
According to reports fromA Bola, the Toffees will need to pay £35 million to sign the Portuguese international who has been in good form this season.
Fernandes is a very good midfielder, and his performances for Sporting have been very encouraging. He has scored six goals and provided five assists in 14 league matches for Sporting so far this season.
Furthermore, he has scored two goals and provided one assist in six Europa League games this campaign.
He looks like an exciting prospect, but signing him would be a massive gamble. He has failed to prove himself outside of Portugal, and there is no reason to believe that he can be a success in the Premier League.
Plus, Marcel Brands clearly stated that one of the reasons why Everton will not move for Hirving Lozano is that the Merseyside club are looking to pay big money who are already proven in the Premier League or elsewhere.
Fernandes probably can be placed in the same league as Lozano, and therefore, paying £35m for him would be a huge gamble, unless Silva is absolutely convinced about him.

Report: Club willing to sell 23 y/o int'l to Rangers in January

Report: Club willing to sell 23 y/o int'l to Rangers in January – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Glen Kamara will join Glasgow Rangers in the summer of 2019, but Dundee are planning to do a deal with the Ibrox club in January.
According to The Scottish Sun, Dundee are ready to sell Kamara to Rangers in the January transfer window. The Gers have already signed a pre-contract agreement with the 23-year-old who will join Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer of 2019. His contract expires at the end of the season, and thereafter, he will join the Ibrox club on a free transfer.
The report claims that Dundee are willing to do business with Rangers now, and want to sell the Finland international midfielder for a transfer fee (which would be minimal – still better than getting nothing) this month.
Should such an opportunity arise, Rangers must take it. Kamara is a very good midfielder, and he will make Rangers a much better team for the second half of the season.
With Rangers challenging Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title, they should at least be open to offers, and sign him if the fee need to be paid is minimal.

Report: Wolves in the hunt to sign £4.4m defender, offer made already

Report: Wolves in the hunt to sign £4.4m defender, offer made already – originally posted on Sportslens.com

According to reports from Sky Sports Italia, Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to sign Juventus-owned defender Rogerio this month.
The Brazilian left-back joined Serie A side Sassuolo in 2017, and managed 14 appearances in all competitions last season.
The versatile youngster who can play as a left-sided midfielder has been impressive this season as well, managing 17 Serie A appearances thus far, with one assist to his name.
He is attracting attention from abroad, with Wolves keen to bring him to Molineux. In fact, they have already made an offer to Juventus to secure his services.
According to Transfermarkt, Rogerio is valued at around £4.4 million.
Nuno’s side sit ninth in the Premier League, and they have done extremely well so far. Rogerio could be a smart addition to the side, and given his age, he can only improve going forward.
The report doesn’t clarify whether Wolves want him on a permanent basis or on loan. If Juventus rate him highly, the Old Lady may only be willing to send him on loan to continue his development.

Opinion: Benitez has just come up with an exciting target for Newcastle who could join on bargain deal

Opinion: Benitez has just come up with an exciting target for Newcastle who could join on bargain deal – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez badly needs to bolster the squad in the January transfer window, but with budget not available in plenty, the Magpies boss will have to look for bargain deals.
It seems like they have found one. According to reports from Calciomercato, Newcastle are interested in signing Empoli midfielder Miha Zajc but they face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Huddersfield Town.
Benitez would love to add a playmaker to his rank in a bid to spark the attacking flair that Newcastle badly lack at the moment. While Miguel Almiron links are still doing the rounds, Empoli’s Zajc would be a bargain signing for the Magpies.
The 24-year-old wants to leave Empoli this month, and will be available for anything between just €5million to €6million (£4.5million to £5.37million), making him somewhat of a bargain for Newcastle.
He has done well so far in the Serie A, managing two goals and two assists this season. He scored eight goals last season in Empoli’s promotion-winning campaign, and the Slovenian international would be a handy signing.
Zajc can play in the no 10 position, and would be an ideal signing in Newcastle’s 4-2-3-1 system.

Report: Leeds 29 y/o Jan target close to sealing deal with his former club

Report: Leeds 29 y/o Jan target close to sealing deal with his former club – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Leeds United were reportedly thought to be interested in signing Ibai Gomez during the January transfer window.
Last month, Mundo Deportivo reported that Deportivo Alaves will consider offers for him as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been in superb form this season scoring three goals and providing two assists from attacking midfield positions. Leeds showed interest in signing the Spaniard valued at £8.9 million, which is reportedly his release clause.
However, it seems the Whites are going to miss out on him. Spanish outlet El Gol Digital claim that Gomez is close to an agreement to join his former side Athletic Bilbao.
The winger played under Marcelo Bielsa previously at Bilbao, and it seems he won’t be rejoining his former manager, rather will return to his former club.
Alaves and Bilbao have agreed a deal in principle, and that transfer is expected to ‘accelerate’ in the coming days.
Interestingly, the deal agreed between the two clubs is 3 million Euros (£2.69m). Surely, at this base price, Leeds should make a formal attempt to bring him to the Yorkshire club.

According to reliable Telegraph journalist, John Percy, Championship outfit Aston Villa are set to sign Wolves defender Kortney Hause on loan today.
He tweeted the news on his personal Twitter handle. Fellow rivals West Bromwich Albion showed interest in signing him as well, but it seems Villa have finally secured the move.

#avfc are set to sign #Wolves defender Kourtney Hause today, on loan until the end of the season. Hause was also a target for #wba
— John Percy (@JPercyTelegraph) January 7, 2019

The 23-year-old is predominantly a centre-back, but he can also play as a left-back, which means he can fill two major problem positions for Dean Smith.
Villa initially tabled an offer in the region of £2million for Hause, but Wolves were demanding more.
The Daily Mail reported yesterday that Aston Villa were negotiating a revised deal as Smith is desperately looking to sign a centre-back in January.
The report claimed that Villa are looking to take Hause on loan until the end of the season with a view to sign him permanently in the summer.
West Brom were linked with a move for Hause last week, but it seems he is heading to Villa Park instead.
